Heritage Woods of South Elgin

Heritage Woods of South Elgin is an assisted living community in South Elgin, Illinois, serving adults 65 and older who need help maintaining their independence. Located on the southwest corner of McLean Boulevard and Bowes Road between Highway 31 and Randall Road, the community opened in summer 2009 and emphasizes lifestyle, wellness, dignity, and independence with an active, social environment.

The community offers private apartments designed for senior living with a range of floor plans, mini-blinds, and ample closet space. Certified staff are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide personal assistance and medication management. Support services include three daily meals, housekeeping, and laundry. Residents enjoy the privacy of their own apartments while having access to helping hands when needed for activities they can no longer do safely alone.

Heritage Woods provides social and recreational activities, including yoga, bingo, and physical therapy with rehabilitation services. The community emphasizes companionship and an active lifestyle with a Resident Services Coordinator and staff dedicated to resident wellness and happiness. A financial assistance program and the Supportive Living Program (available in Illinois for seniors 65 and older on Medicaid receiving minimum Social Security income) help make the community affordable to those with varying financial resources.

The community received the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living 2020 Bronze Quality Award recognizing quality improvement efforts, and was designated as Best in Assisted Living for 2022–23 based on consumer satisfaction surveys. Heritage Woods was also awarded A Great Place to Work in 2023.
