I visited my grandmother at Sunrise of Schaumburg a few weeks after she moved in and it is amazing to see how happy and settled she is. She’s already made new friends and is receiving such thoughtful care from the staff.

My 96 year old mom, who had dementia, was always treated with dignity and respect. She lived there for 2 1/2 years. The staff was stable and caring to her and I saw that care in their interactions with other residents. The staff were well-educated in the disease and knew that there was more to my mom that dementia. They appreciated her playfulness and sense of humor. They were very patient with any behavioral episodes and learned to let her work through them herself. A different response might work with a different resident. Everything was customized to my mom's needs. Any concerns were addressed right away. The staff was also extremely compassionate toward me and my siblings as my mom's disease progressed and she eventually passed away.

My family's experience with Sunrise of Schaumburg has been exceptional. So many truly caring people helped all of us as we went through this next phase and final stage of living for Mom. I would highly recommend this team and location. We felt truly blessed to have so many wonderful people from nursing, hospice and admin staff, as well as the folks that maintained the building and even the cooking/serving staff. Great atmosphere, great people.

Wonderful place with great staff, especially Lynne who directs the Memory unit, and Shanika who is the primary caregiver for our family friend. Highly recommend this facility.
