The person at the front desk, who I believe may have been the cell director, was very disrespectful. My mom works here, and she told me she wouldn’t be able to take me home right away, so I planned on getting an Uber. A few minutes later, she told me to stay because she was being let off early.
While I was waiting, I walked into the main entrance and wasn’t greeted at all. I politely asked if I could sit in the lobby while I waited for my mom, and the woman at the front desk responded in a rude tone, saying I “would have to do something” to sit there. She seemed completely serious, which made the situation very uncomfortable, so I just sat down.
After waiting for a while, I got tired and rested my head. I was then told I couldn’t sleep, needed to keep my head up, and had to sit up straight, as if I were a child. I understand there may be policies about people waiting in the lobby, but the way I was spoken to was unnecessary and disrespectful.
Overall, my first impression of this place was disappointing because of the way I was treated. I hope they work on treating visitors with more kindness and respect.
