Moving a parent into assisted living is one of those things you know is coming, but you still hope it goes as smoothly as possible. Like most families, we were worried about how my father would adjust. Thankfully, those worries didn't last long.<br><br>From day one, the people I have worked with, Louis, Diana, Ian, and Kevin, have been fantastic. They were always willing to answer questions, help with whatever came up, and made both my mother and me feel like my father was truly being cared for.<br><br>The apartments are spacious, and everyone my dad has met, both the staff and the residents, has been so welcoming. My takeaway from speaking with him is that it really feels like a community rather than just a place to live.<br><br>The best part has been hearing how well my father has settled in. Every time I talk to him, he sounds happier. He's getting involved, spending time with other residents, and is much more active than he was before, instead of just sitting around watching TV between medical and rehabilitation specialist appointments. Seeing that has given our family a lot of peace of mind. We had concerns he would not be happy with the meals, but that is not the case either.<br><br>Thank you to Louis, Diana, Kevin, Ian, and everyone at Veranda Club for making what could have been a difficult transition such a positive one. We're very grateful for everything you've done.
