Update: I took my uncle out of this place. Staff kept leaving, prices kept going up every year with $500 even though food and care declined and cuts were made on personnel. We went on a holiday for 3 weeks and found my uncle’s ankle wound bandage hadn’t been changed for 2 weeks, causing severe infection. There is no one at the front desk until 10, but doors are open at 8. People can just walk in and go to residents’ rooms unchecked. We had dinner there for special occasions, and I’m not picky, but the food was horrible. I decided to move my uncle in with us, where I took him to Advent wound care where they healed his ankle in 3 weeks, when he was receiving care for it for over 6 months at Brookdale and nothing changed. When moving him out, I found black mold in his pillows and closets and piles of dust. I received a huge bill for all kinds of care that was not covered by his insurance, and which had only made his wound worse. Plus found care on his monthly bill for showering and clothing him, when he was doing this all himself. Long story short: by removing him from Brookdale he now lives with us, in a nice home, with healthy home made meals, gets excellent care when he needs it and is over the moon that he gets to live with family (myself and 2 teens) for a fraction of the cost of living in Brookdale (6.5k per month and going up $500 every year). Best decision we ever made.<br>Former review when just moving in:<br>We visited many assisted living places before deciding on Brookdale. It has turned out to be a great choice for my uncle. It’s a smaller community, close to amenities. All staff have been friendly and helpful, from Les helping me prepare my uncles room for move in, Joanne and Kerrie for all my questions and all other staff being personable and taking time and having attention for peoples personal needs here. Evening crew has been slightly less responsive, but Barbara is always there 🙏 I drop in at all times and days and I hear the staff make jokes and laugh with the residents. They offer plenty activities and shuttle service to doctor visits and shopping. My uncle is happy here and feels safe and comfortable. That’s what matters most.

I had such an outstanding experience visiting Brookdale Ormond Beach assisted living community. From the moment I walked in, it was clear this is a place where people truly care. The leadership team was incredibly attentive, taking time to connect, listen, and ensure every detail of the visit felt meaningful and personalized.<br><br>What stood out just as much was the entire team- every associate I encountered was warm, engaged, and genuinely welcoming. You can’t fake that kind of culture- it’s something you feel right away. There’s a distinctive, positive energy here that reflects a deep commitment to residents and their families.<br><br>The overall vibe is something special: compassionate, respectful, and uplifting. It’s evident that this community prioritizes not just care, but connection and quality of life.<br><br>An excellent experience all around- I would absolutely recommend taking the time to visit and see it for yourself.

This facility is beyond what I ever expected in senior care for my mom. Everyone has shown so much love and understanding from the first day I walked through the. door. Cha'Ron and her staff are superb!

I was looking for an assisted for my Dad and stopped by Brookdale in Ormond Beach. I met with the Executive Director and after talking with her and observing the friendly staff, this is where I’d want my Dad to be. Thank you for making this decision for us.
