The facility is has changed 360 in the past year! The AED is such a great addition to the team. He’s very responsive & reliable with all the questions Iv had! I’m very comfortable & pleased to have my grandfather there and well taken care of!

This review is for Thelia and amya... They are both in the Bistro....They're absolutely amazing. Always smiling!!...Always helpful!!!!...they are such a pleasure everytime...I met Jeff the Dining manager... He's run in a great staff.<br>And he's also very, very friendly. It's a pleasure to be here.. They take good care of my father.You can't put a price on that!!!!!

My sister and I are in the process of relocating our parents and in-laws from Westchester, NY to the West Hartford area, and as such, we have been touring several communities. We stopped by Brookdale Chatfield with the intention of either receiving or scheduling a proper tour.<br><br>At first impression, the facility presents well—modern, bright, and notably clean. The receptionist was gracious and professional, assuring us she would be with us shortly. While we waited, we observed her interacting with a resident with patience and genuine attentiveness. The café staff, too, appeared pleasant, smiling, and engaged in their duties.<br><br>However, what ultimately informed our decision not to proceed was the conduct of the aides. Nearly all were wearing earpieces or visibly engaged with their cell phones. One aide passed directly by us, speaking loudly and laughing on what was unmistakably a personal call—hardly the level of discretion or professionalism one hopes to see in such an environment.<br><br>Equally concerning was the lack of basic acknowledgment. Despite making eye contact with several staff members, not one offered a greeting or asked if we required assistance—particularly striking given that the receptionist was clearly occupied. In any community of this nature, aides are not incidental—they are the backbone of resident safety, care, and well-being. Their presence sets the tone far more than décor ever could.<br><br>To observe such a visible lack of professionalism gives us significant pause when considering a forever home for our families. We are looking for a community where attentiveness, discretion, and a sense of responsibility are second nature—not optional.<br><br>We have visited a number of other facilities in the area, and the contrast in staff presence and engagement was quite stark. Regrettably, this experience has led us to conclude that Brookdale Chatfield is not the right fit for our families.

I can’t say enough about the management at Chatfield. You can truly see how much they care about their residents. I’ll always recommend them!
