Made me feel like I was in jail. CNA’s are great they try and help whenever they are not short . Therapy is wonderful. But the administration was rude nasty and couldn’t care less about ANYTHING. When I left they threw my meds in a bag and shoved me on a bus and didn’t BOTHER to tell me when to take my meds or which ones.to take . Needless to say I cried for a week. And God forbid I call and ask for help. They told me they can’t help me.

My mother was here backing March and it was a terrible experience. She would ring for over and hour just fornsimeone to help her to the bathroom. We packed her clothes to bring there and when she was discharged they gave us someone else's clothes nothing of hers. When I called and requested them to located them I never got a response. She was sent to the hospital for vomiting and they sent her all dirty didnt have the decency to clean her up a bit before they sent her off. It's really a nasty place and I would to go the point of saying neglectful. My mother would be feeling very sick and no one would take the time to check on her. Theres other places better then this one. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

Terrible, please don’t send family here. Care staff seem to mean well, and check in frequently during the day. When present, the personal care staff is attentive and kind. But there’s a persistent issue with lack of staff during weekends and nighttime. Which does impact patient care. Expect your family member to wait 4 hours+ for aid during the day, and not to get it at night. They failed to notice a major injury in my mom, which required a hospital visit. They then failed to even do her intake paperwork, but had no issue harassing her daughter (who has no obligation to pay) for payments. Not many family visit the rehab center and you’ll quickly see why. If you visit family, be prepared to be harassed with calls or to even have the lady from the business office wait for you at the front desk all day to ask if you’ve called the insurance company but not to check on patients 🤷‍♀️

While my grandmother was there for 3 months for broken leg, And ankle. Initially it was tough for both her and the workers. But with time and having Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. She has come such a very long way! Compared to other rehabs that she’s been in throughout the last couple of years. The Therapy department is number 1. Without the women in Therapy to help her daily, she wouldn’t have made such a great recovery and continues to do so. At first it was a little rocky with the aides and nursing however when they all figured out each others personalities, then the staff was wonderful, caring and helpful. Being grandma can be feisty and needy. The staff learned to how to deal with each resident differently and we are very appreciative for that. I would certainly recommend Shelton Lakes. Hope this will help anyone looking for a place for their loved one.
