The staff is friendly and attentive. The building set up, is confusing to visitors. The people who live there are given things to do like art.

I can't say enough bad about this place. My girlfriend was in rehab at the south bldg for 4 months after having a stroke, a few yrs ago. I feel for people that are there permanently. She received very minimal rehab. I would get there in the afternoon and she would tell me someone would be coming in the afternoon to do occupational therapy with her, they usually did not show up. She finally started getting the needed rehab after I got her home. When it was time to bring her home I had no help at all in getting the house set up for her. I could keep on going on about the bad about this place. Rehab unit did have a few good nurses and aides. Came time to bring her home nobody set up a chairvan ride for her or help us set up a van ride. I was ready to call the fire dept to help get her in the car. I had already talked with the fire dept at home to get her in the house. Fortunately there was one good nurse on the staff that helped me find a chairvan to get her home. Do not send a loved here, place is horrible. I could keep on talking about the bad about this place but I said enough. Don't go there. Oh ya food was bad, processed food for the people with health issues. Wonderful. I would bring her food from home everyday so she would have something healthy to eat. Except for a few good nurses and staff I have nothing good to say about this place. I just needed to get her out of there and bring her home. She is doing much better now and making dinner as I write this. Mngmnt tried to get her to check into long term care with them.

I am NOT impressed with this facility at all. Some of the nurses are rude and cant be bothered to take care of their patients. My aunt was sent there 2 weeks ago and as of today I was finally able to get her phone and cable fixed... 2 weeks of complaining and nothing! They had a new phone system put in and it does not work correctly so for the past 2 weeks I am not able to reach a nurse AT ALL! I cant even begin to tell you how extremely infuriating it is to NOT be able to know how your loved one is doing. I cant even get a nurse on the phone to see how she is b/c her phone was not working. Then to top things off, she has fallen 3 times since she has been there and no one has done anything about it. I have left messages for several people and to no avail, I never heard back. I have not once heard from her doctor or the social worker in the 2 weeks she has been there. Then most recently I was told she had a stroke over the weekend.. Why didnt someone tell me that before today?? They called me yesterday to tell me she fell again but nothing about her having a stroke.. did they NOT notice her slanted mouth, slurred speech and little to no movement on her right side?? I thought they were "nurses"... some of them cant even be bothered to get off their cell phone to find batteries for an elderly patient who just wanted to watch TV.. I mean come on... how hard is that really?? I would NOT recommend this facility for your loved ones... Nursing homes have gone down hill over the last 10 years and it is really sad..

If you have a loved one staying here for rehab please keep an eye on everything involving their care! The physical therapist does a great job and there are a couple nice people on staff and that is the only reason for the second star. The rest of the facility leaves a lot to be desired. The room they put my Dad in is dirty, chipping paint everywhere, beat up furniture, and rusted baseboard heating covers that are not even on correctly being held in place with screws. The bathroom in his room is extremely dated, not big enough for a wheelchair, and the toilet is not set up well for the handicapped. There is no way he can use the bathroom with his wheelchair and the staff takes too long to get to him most of the time to assist and then they wonder why they have to clean him up from an accident blaming it on meds and diarrhea and not that they took too long to get to him. Not only is the food not good at all to begin with being served stone cold, they seem to ignore that there is an allergy and just give people whatever there is without thought. There are no options and no choices, you just get handed a tray and whatever it is it is. On top of that my Dad needs adaptive silverware due to stroke and although I told several people he needed it, it was ignored for four days until they finally got him the silverware so he can eat today. Therefore he was in the facility for four days before he was able to have the tools he needed to eat with. My sister has resorted to ordering dinner via doordash for him so that he will actually get at least one meal a day he can eat that will be hot. The small closet of a room that has the sink for water and refrigerator, where they store drinks and food, was also dirty when I went and got water for my Dad. So yeah... I know the nursing home situation is bad everywhere and this place is no exception! Dirty, bad food, short staffed, staff that hangs up on you when you call and sometimes doesn't even answer the phone at all. If you or your loved one needs to be at this facility you NEED to keep on them constantly and be that squeaky wheel over seeing everything or else things will not get done as they should and your loved one will suffer. Side note, my dad was at this location previously and it wasn't as bad last September. In September the food was at least ok for the most part and the staff was more careful with allergies and more attentive with care, that is not the case now. *for some reason I can not reply to the response just posted. Please reply with an email address where I can send more detailed information in relation to these concerns. I do not wish to post dates, times, and specific details concerning my dad's care publicly. Thank you.
