This place is horrible. If you actully love your family then don't send them here. My grandfather was without his oxygen for over an hour even though he told the aides he couldn't breathe!!! Thank God we came to visit. We turned it on ourselves. The lack of humanity is this place in chilling.

What a pleasant surprise! ALL the staff at Woodside Manor were caring, professional and effective at healing my 90-year-old father. He was there for six weeks recovering from a broken hip. The care at Woodside was night and day to what he received at previous stays in “fancy” rehab centers. If you can get past the dated décor, you’ll find a dedicated care team that works well together to provide outstanding care. I was delighted by the number of times the administrator, Alaina Maley, nursing director, Melissa Smock, and social work director, Kim Johnston, reached out to coordinate my father’s care and their prompt response each time I contacted them. When I asked my father how his physical and occupational therapy was going, he enthusiastically answered, “Those ladies are fun!” They did amazing work helping my father exceed our expectations. He’s walking and transferring as well as he did before he broke his hip! As a bonus, under the nursing team’s watchful eyes we were able to discontinue most of my father’s medications, freeing him from their side effects. Thank you all for giving my father a new lease on life!

My mom was here for a few months originally for rehab but then turned into long term care. The therapy staff were wonderful with mom. She enjoyed going to therapy which kept her motivated to keep trying. The aides were very accommodating and patient with mom. Mom always kept candy in her drawer for them as she felt they all deserved a treat. The nurses were exceptional as well including Carol the NP. They know I was a nurse as well and put up with my questions and suggestions. Lastly I would like to thank Alaina, the Administrator and Melissa the DON. They were always there to take care of any issues I had and to ensure my mom had the best possible care. Sadly my mom passed away but I am forever grateful for this nursing facility to have made her transition from home to there a positive one.

I toured this facility (along with several others) while looking for long term care for my grandfather. Although this was the place we selected, unfortunately he passed away before admission. Woodside stood out to us for several reasons - its clean, staff are friendly, and most importantly - the residents are happy! I highly recommend taking a tour and seeing for yourself

It was a blessing that I was able to admit both my parents to this facility. They were long term care residents for nearly five years. The staff is warm, caring, and willing to work with us and problem solve any concerns we had to help make their quality of life the best it could be. Even though my Mom and Dad’s challenges were completely different, the care they received was always personalized for them, modified when needed, and each of them was treated with respect and dignity that you pray for when you can’t be the one to provide their care. The office staff and business manager are so friendly and guided me through all the financial, Medicaid, and Social Security challenges that can be completely overwhelming. I appreciated their help so much. The Rehabilitation services were excellent and were always encouraging and positive right down to their last days. Despite my Dad’s rapid Parkinson’s decline, he was the first one up and ready for PT and OT, and because of their kind and encouraging manner he persevered with a positive attitude and great self esteem. As Mom’s health challenges continued, I was amazed by the many strategies that the OT used to help her better communicate and improve her daily living skills. The Nurses and CNAs each had a special bond with my parents and it was heart warming to witness these interactions daily. They were readily available and communicated in a timely manner whenever necessary. My parents participated in and enjoyed many activities that were planned and organized by the Activities Department. They especially looked forward to musical guests, outings, Bingo, and special holiday events. This staff had a tremendous impact on their emotional well-being. I greatly appreciated the Social Worker and the Administrator who were hands on, proactive, and very supportive to our entire family. Losing both parents so close together is something one is never quite ready for but the Woodside Staff was compassionate and caring and made me feel like family. After time in two other facilities, my only regret is that we did not come to Woodside first. I would definitely recommend Woodside Manor for Rehabilitation and Long Term Care! March 2024
