My grandmother was transferred to White Oak Manor in York, SC after being released from the hospital. She received physical/occupational therapy while she was at WOM- York facility. She raved about how awesome the therapy staff was. She really enjoyed staying at WOM-York and spoke highly of the CNA, nursing and therapy staff, stating that everyone was very nice and treating her well. She even said that she enjoyed the food and dietary selections! While visiting my grandmother, I observed her with a therapist and he was very attentive and patient with my grandmother (my grandmother said that she liked that he was nice to look at 😂). The facility was clean, smelled good and any staff members that we encountered were very friendly and pleasant. After visiting my grandmother at WOM-York, I left there feeling comforted and confident that my grandmother was being well taken care of.

My father in law has to go here after breaking his shoulder and hip. He was released prematurely and sent home without the ability to take care of himself. Luckily my family is in a position to take care of him, he won't be going back to this facility. I'm not sure how it's ok to send elderly people home whom live alone when they aren't medically able to take care of themselves. He was sent home not even being able to walk and was expected to take care of himself. We had to come to the conclusion on our own he wasn't ready to be alone. This facility didn't even give us the insight on the matter.

Do not take your loved one here. My grandmother was admitted there for two weeks for rehabilitation. In just one week's time. She had a nurse trying to scam her out of her account number saying she had to pay for Wi-Fi when it comes free. No one come in to give her a bath. She had to do it herself in her wheelchair. The place is dirty. the sewage overflowed in the toilet the very first day and they put towels down and said there was no house cleaning during the weekend. so the sewage covered towels set there for 24 hours. every time I would call to make complaints they would assure me it would get done, rather it be bathing cleaning or any other need and it was never done. fortunately my grandmother didn't need to stay any longer than a week. this place is dirty the nurses are unprofessional. I've had more problems with this place in one week's time then there ever should be. my grandmother was there for 3 days before she even got any kind of Rehabilitation care.

I waited a few months to do this review. I had looked into this facility, read reviews and checked appropriate sites but just as I was planning a visit, my mother spent 6 nights in the hospital and we had to choose which rehab to send her to(which has become her permanent home). From the first minute when staff was stopping to comfort me as I was extremely emotional, to every visit when we have seen how they talk to the residence and everyone is clean and taken care of, the rooms and hallways always smell clean, laundry is done regularly, we have had nothing but gratitude for them all making us feel that we have made the absolute right decision. THE STAFF. I don’t care that the facility is a bit older and in need of some updates, the staff is key. I have heard how they come into the room when I am on the phone with my parents and the way they talk to them is no different than a family member. We are so grateful for all of them. My father has also come and they went out of their way to put them together. I don’t have experience with another place but I can not imagine anywhere would be better for us than here. Thank you, thank you, thank you White Oak staff for the weight you have taken off of our shoulders. We are forever grateful to you.

My mom arrived her on Oct 4. She arrived at 3:30 pm .I arrived there at 3:45 pm. By 4:30 pm her oxygen level was at 77% they gave her a shot and breathing treatment for her lungs. Oxygen level got to 82% the nurses left the room and I started checking the oxygen lines for kinks what I found was her oxygen line was not connected. When I connected it with in minutes her oxygen level was at 99%. The next day I came to see her and noticed the first thing was her oxygen line was not connected for the second time. I filled out her food Manu and she never got what I put down. 5 days in I noticed that her oxygen machine had a yellow light on it. I looked it up to see what it meant. " dirty filter pour air quality " I had to change out the machine. My mom was released on Oct 20. She came home almost in worse shape than she went in. They sent her home with a every server UTI in less than 48 hours my mom is back in the hospital. Honestly I will never send my mom back there. For everyone else I would pay closer attention if you have someone in here. Ask all the questions you can think of, to protect your loved one.
