Poor care, grandma fell and had an opened bleeding head wound. Staff didn’t call me until an hour later and was not going to send her to the hospital. By the time she reached the hospital, she was admitted for 10 days. I wouldn’t trust this place again with a hamster nonetheless a person! And this isn’t the only issue we had there within 4 months of being there.

This facility gave my mom the best medical care that I could have asked for. We moved my mom to a closer location for us, but two months later we were asking to come back because my mom wasn’t getting the care that she got at Kings Mountain. From the administration to the nursing, the CNA‘s the social workers I couldn’t have asked for better for my mom. Thank you Kings Mountain. WOM..

My dad was a resident for four weeks during which I made six in person visits. Each visit I found the facility to be very clean, very well staffed and residences were happily engaged with each other as well as employees. For me the condition in which my dad entered White Oak Manor and the condition in which he left says everything. The care, nourishment, therapy, the assessment for the proper medications, the excellent communication from administration and nurses, as well as their exceptional kindness and professionalism allowed my dad to thrive. His words to me at the end of his stay were, “They are so good to me and feed me three delicious meals a day! I could live out the rest of my days here“ is the greatest testament to White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. I appreciate White Oak Manor and highly recommend this rehabilitation center.

First off. If you want your loved one to have clean, matching clothes or any socks left, then you better do the laundry at home. My Mom was very cold natured and always wanted to be fully dressed. Several times I went in and she had shirt only. Couldn't find any of the blankets I had taken in. She was left to try to eat her meal on her own. She had dementia and very limited capabilities. She would be in her wheel chair leaning so far sideways that it looked like she was gonna fall over. I feel to this day that she did not have proper nutrition. They would say she wouldn't eat, however whenever I took something in she ate for me. EVERY time I complained, they had an excuse and of course it was in their favor. It breaks my heart that I was unable to care for her in the later stages. It wasn't until Hospice stepped in in her last week's that I felt comfortable with her care. I haven't even had time to grieve before they were calling wanting money. I'm not saying everyone there is bad, she had a CNA named Precious and I knew she would be taken care of when she was there. When she was moved to the Oak room, the two young girls took her and her bed and were actually running down the hall, having a blast like they were at an amusement park. All I can say now to them is watch out for good old Karma, she always pays a visit. Becci Braden

My mother has lived her for two years. After all the nursing homes she has been at in the Gastonia I like this one the best. She has made lots of friends. They have a lot of activities that the residents can be involved in. I am a flight attendant and I don't worry about my Mom while I am gone. I have had some problems with the laundry. They have lost a lot of her clothes and refuse to reimburse me for them. I cannot bring anything too nice for my mother to wear because it will be gone. I can't tell you how many pair of black pants I have bought her that go missing. There is a kitty that lives there name Tiger and he brings life into the place. He makes it warms and inviting. My mom loves him so much. I would recommend this place. They are good to my Mother. I would also like to mention that the staff communicates with me. When something is going on with my Mom they always call me or talk to me while I am there. I have had problems with staff not communicating with me at other places. They also have more employees than other nursing homes. Most nursing home are several understaffed. White Oak seems to have more employees which helps with me feeling like she is taken care of while I am gone. I do know that these employees are severely underpaid and they have to do so much in the care of these people. It is an extremely hard job and they all need a raise. Their job is very important and underappreciated.
