Our family has had a wonderful experience with this short-term/long-term care facility. From the moment my loved one was admitted, the staff has been compassionate, attentive and respectful. It's clear they truly care about the residents and treat them with dignity. We've also noticed with the new administrative and nursing staff-they are approachable, responsive and have improved communication overall. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained and welcoming. Activities are thoughtfully planned and it's reassuring to know that my loved one is engaged and cared for in a safe environment. Choosing short-term or long-term care is never easy, but this facility has given our family peace of mind. We are truly grateful for the care and dedication shown every day and would highly recommend this facility to other families.

All of a sudden in the past 5 months all of these so called 5 star reviews have popped up. Don't believe any of them. This place is under investigation for many different things. They don't comply with anything they are supposed to. I am writing to express deep concern about the ongoing neglect, incompetence, and lack of compassion at University Place. This nursing home is failing to meet even the most basic standards of patient care and safety. Residents are not being properly fed, with many placed on pureed diets unnecessarily and without medical justification. Restricted and specialized diets are not being prepared for those who require them, placing residents with medical conditions at serious risk. Due to chronic understaffing, patients are often confined to their rooms because there are not enough caregivers available to assist or supervise them. Many residents who require help eating are being forced to feed themselves, resulting in malnutrition and distress. It is common for patients to be left sitting in urine and feces for hours, without timely hygiene care or assistance. Bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene are being neglected, and many residents are left unkept and uncomfortable. Those showing signs of medical decline are not being transferred for appropriate medical evaluation until it’s far too late. In recent months, there has been a concerning number of deaths that appear related to the lack of timely care. Bedsores and pressure ulcers are widespread among residents, a clear indicator of sustained neglect. Adding insult to injury, residents are expected to buy snacks from a vending machine for $2 each just to have something they can actually eat. This facility continues to collect Medicaid payments despite clear evidence that residents’ basic needs are not being met. It has been reported to state agencies multiple times, yet only minimal corrective action appears to have been taken. I am calling for an independent investigation by state and federal authorities, including Medicaid oversight, to review the serious improprieties and possible violations of patient rights occurring at this facility. No family should have to fear that their loved one is suffering or dying because of neglect in a place meant to provide care and dignity.

My mother has been in the memory care unit here for over a year now. The staff has taken good care of her, and most do the best they can at what is a very difficult job. When I express concerns, the staff are responsive and communicative. The current unit manager, Donia, has worked closely with me to ensure my mom is receiving the best care possible given her current circumstances. The facility is kept clean by a hard working cleaning staff who also seem to care for the patients. I’m thankful to have found this facility when my mother’s care exceeded my abilities. Upon admission, I knew this wasn’t a 5-star self-pay facility, but I am pleased with the efforts, care, and responsiveness of the staff as well as the upkeep of the facility.
