My mother-in-law moved in less than 2 weeks ago. She already feels like it’s home. The staff and residents made her feel welcome as soon as she walked in the door. The staff is amazing - so helpful and attentive. Everyone, staff and residents alike, has made sure that my mother-in-law knows where things are located, what events are taking place, and she always has a group of friends to sit with at meals. We were all expecting that there might be a period of adjustment as she was moving to a new apartment, in a new city and state. The transition has been seamless. The Neighborhood is perfectly named. It truly is a warm, caring, community that immediately treats you like family.

Just gave my mother a letter telling her that they are raising rents 25%! My elderly mother is in a panic.

Edit: Spoke to Director about the increase after posting. The letter my mother received was boilerplate and did not reflect any discounts on her account. The increase was closer to 10%. Raised to 4 stars…deducting one simply because communication issue.

Be sure to read up on the Alabama Dept. of Public Health Care Facilities Deficiencies (available on their website) of any community before selecting it as home. This information is available to the public and should be available on request when touring. Morningside’s last survey was from 12/1/2022 and is 87 pages long. In comparison some competitors only have 1 -5 page reports of findings or the lack there of.

My 1 star review is based on my actual experience but I think that it’s best to just read ADPH findings than my opinions. It highlights the operational disfunction with fact based evidence.
