As soon as you enter this facility you are warmly welcomed. Seeing the way the staff interact with residents is so beautiful. The staff is kind, warm and welcoming. The residents look so happy. I highly recommend The Cottage at Litchfield Hills over and over.

I have had the honor of volunteering my time for “Casino Night” at The Cottage on several occasions. The residents make for a lively evening of games and laughter! Whether it’s the joy of getting a Blackjack or hitting their favorite number in Roulette, the residents go “all-in” for fun on these nights! Rick and his staff from Resident Engagement pull out all the stops with decorations, drinks, and snacks to keep the party going!!!! The Cottage staff show that they are truly engaged in ensuring the residents have a blast on “Casino Night!” I can’t wait for the next one!!!!!

We had to make the decision to put my mom into an assisted living facility after she began rapidly declining with dementia. I wish we were able to get her into The Cottage at Litchfield Hills sooner! The first location, while beautiful, in an affluent area, and with all sorts of bells and whistles, unfortunately offered extremely sub-par care for my mother. She was always unbathed, with greasy hair, and wearing the same clothing day after day. "She said no", was the response when I asked why this was. Entire bedding sets were taken and never returned or found. It was a less than one star experience. Not to mention my mother hated it and wanted to get out. Our experience with The Cottage of Litchfield Hills has been the polar opposite! While once again, a beautiful facility with all sorts of bells and whistles, the care offered is amazing! My mother is happy here, likes most of the people most of the time (when you have dementia, that's like a 5 star review!). They check in on her frequently and encourage her to go to activities. They are gentle with all of the people living in the Memory Care Unit and everyone there is welcoming, friendly, and easy to speak with. We felt welcomed from the moment we moved my mom into The Cottage and my mom continues to be happy there. Dealing with having to watch your parent decline so rapidly is heartbreaking. Knowing that she is surrounded by people who not only care, but also understand her needs and moods lightens the load. We highly recommend The Cottage at Litchfield Hills!

My uncle was a resident of The Cottage at Litchfield Hills for several years. Based on the care he received and the attention to his needs, I highly recommend this care facility to those who require care but want to preserve a sense of being home. The staff is attentive and pleasant and the grounds and rooms are clean and well-maintained.
