I truly cannot say enough good things about The Springs of Richmond. As someone who worked in nursing care for sixteen years, including seven years as a CNA in various facilities, and having placed family members in other homes, I can confidently say that nothing compares to this place. From laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance to HR, the wait staff, and the cook staff, every single department goes above and beyond. The therapy team, providing both inpatient and outpatient physical and occupational therapy, is exceptional and incredibly dedicated. The nursing team and CNAs are also top-notch, providing professional care with genuine respect. The location is also excellent, situated on one of the more recent stretches of road and being one of the first businesses along that stretch, lying directly between CVS and Hill's Pet Nutrition. I also love their accessible sidewalk that goes all the way around the building, which is great for people in wheelchairs and walkers to get some exercise. There are bird feeders outside some residents' windows, and the courtyards are just beautiful with patches of flowers and well-manicured shrubs. Plus, the courtyards all have large patios and one courtyard includes a two-hole putting green. One of the most remarkable things about The Springs of Richmond is the infectious positive energy that seems to flow through every single employee. I have never experienced this level of genuine positivity in a healthcare facility before, and it truly infused me with a sense of energy and optimism during my recovery. As I look ahead to my next spinal surgery, I hope to be approved to return to The Springs again.

During my 3 week stay, everyone I was in contact with was very professional, yet friendly, very attentive to needs and wants.
Even physical therapy was fun and never boring!
The food was delicious, well presented, and abundant.
Many activities daily, visitors anytime, and pets welcome to visit.
If I'm in the position I would need a transitional facility again, or assisted living, this is the place I'd choose!

Ive now heard it said that rehab facilities are not for everyone. I found this true. I went due to TKR and my family didnt want me to go home right after surgery. Meds were not brought on a schedule, sometimes waited 1-4 hours. Ice was not provided regularly which is very important post knee replacement surgery. Water was spilled on the floor all the way to barhroom and left. A nurse reported giving me meds which I didnt have on my chart. Super said she gave them to me. It was a mixup with someone across the hall. Its very loud so hard to sleep. Tv's loud and doors open, all hours. No PT received, none on weekends. Showers overflow so they put a towel on shower floor and on the floor, which is unsafe. Food was ok and staff there very, very pleasant and helpful. They would make things not on the menu. I was impressed with them.
Bed linens were not changed on a 4-nite stay.
This facility might be better geared for those needing a nursing home.
All in all, I did everything for myself except prepare meals.
There are some good people there, so it seems more of a management and training issue for those rehabbing from surgery.

My grandma, aunt and uncle was there all at once for a duration of time and mostly I just have to say that one person in particular was amazing doing her job Raven McCracken really did her best in taking care of my family and making their food correctly to their dietary needs with love and care, she talked to them with respect and listened with tenderness, she has my respect and appreciation
