I cannot say enough wonderful things about Shields Comfort Care and the administrator, Andrea. Andrea was incredibly kind, compassionate, and helpful throughout the entire admission process. She took the time to answer all of my questions, explain every step, and make what could have been an overwhelming experience feel much easier and less stressful for us all. Andrea truly cares about the residents and their families. She listened to all of my loved one’s needs and concerns and worked hard to ensure they received the care, support, and attention they deserved. Meeting with Andrea gave me the confidence I needed to ensure that my loved one was in good hands. The staff and environment at Shields Comfort Care has done such an exceptional job with my loved one with ensuring their care needs are met daily. I am grateful for the support we received and highly recommend Shields Comfort Care Assisted Living to anyone looking for a caring and supportive place for their loved one. Thank you, Andrea and the Shields Comfort Care staff, for your kindness and commitment to helping families during such an important transition and creating peace of mind during this time.

Moved mom in 2nd of Jan 2026. It seemed like everybody I asked a question to said "I just start let me find out" A lot of new people just started working. Kitchen did not follow Diet. The ones handing out the diet didn't know of a diet to follow. Same clothes on for two days and even went to bed in them. BUT they ( head of administration and head of wellness ) were working hard to get everything right and there was a lot of improvement then they were replaced with new people..now we can't get through on the phone, and when you can get to an answering machine nobody returns your calls. Hospital needed a list of meds so I had to go there in person get a list and have them fax it to the hospital. Come to find out it was the wrong list, so they faxed a new list the next morning, with no explanation, or even to call me with the update. I hope there is some improvement.

I’m very disappointed with the level of care my grandma has been receiving at Shields Comfort Care in Saginaw. Every time me and my family come to visit, she smells strongly of urine, as if she hasn’t been properly cleaned or cared for. It’s heartbreaking to see her like that, and it raises real concerns about how often residents are being washed and attended to. Families shouldn’t have to worry about their loved ones sitting in that condition. I truly hope the facility takes these concerns seriously and improves the quality of care for all residents.
