When I saw the reviews, I was a little nervous! I spoke with several employees once my family member moved in. Everyone has been kind and polite! Helpful! The receptions there are the best! They go above & beyond! The nurses call whenever there is an issue or concern. I found out there isn't anyone there on weekends to answer the phones so it's a little harder to connect. The nurses on the floor answers the weekend calls. My niece stopped in and was pleasantly surprised that it looked and smelled clean. She also said everyone She interacted with her pleasant and helpful. Thank you Sandia Ridge

For residents with Diabetes or Kidney Failure, I would not recommend going here. There is a lack of communication, lack of training in the kitchen, they do not manage your diabetes or kidney disease very well, a few of the staff were unprofessional, and no sense of urgency.

My husband was in this facility for 17 days, and I didn't meet one rude or indifferent employee. They were very kind and helpful at all times. I would reccomend this facility for your love ones.

The five star reviews are not an accurate portrayal of the care (or lack thereof) that your loved ones recieve here. I am a CNA and I visit several nursing homes throughout Albuquerque. Genesis ran facilities are known amongst nursing staff to be a place to avoid. Understaffed, poorly ran, unsanitary, and unsatisfactory. During every visit there is an odor of urine and very obvious signs of neglect. Ignored call lights escalate to shouts of "help me" which can be heard throughout the halls. The paitents I visit with are often dressed in the same clothes from the day prior. On a disheartening but consistent basis I see find residents not only in soiled briefs but with BM dried as though they've not been properly cleaned or that they have been left soiled for several hours. The lack of hygiene doesn't stop at direct paitent care. The facility shower room (a shared space for residents) is in disarray with towels that are soiled with BM left laying on the floors, soiled briefs on top of trash cans that no one bothered to find a garbage bag for, and not a disinfectant wipe in sight. If you are considering placement for a loved one, I strongly encourage you to visit unannounced, at different times of day, and truly observe the environment. Pay attention to staffing levels, response times to call lights, cleanliness, and how residents are spoken to. Your loved one deserves attentive, compassionate, and consistent care, not just a polished rating online that I highly suspect is embellished with staff reviews.
