After several months, I have finally been able to move beyond the initial sadness and shock of losing my sister and fully appreciate the extraordinary care she received in her final days. She spent those days in hospice care at San Simeon by the Sound. The staff, from nursing and aides to administration, provided a level of care that reflects true professionalism, compassion and dedication. Their attention was always timely, respectful and caring, not only toward my sister but toward our entire family. The support was consistent from the moment they coordinated her transfer from the hospital through the compassionate guidance they provided after her passing. During one of life’s most difficult experiences, they helped ease the burden and brought comfort when it was needed most. We will always be grateful for the kindness, dignity and care they showed my sister and our family.

My experience with this nursing and rehabilitation center was truly positive. The staff members were compassionate, attentive, and treated residents and families with kindness and respect. The nurses, aides, therapists, and support staff all worked hard to create a caring and supportive environment. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and organized. Choosing a rehabilitation center for a loved one can be stressful, but this facility helped make the experience much easier. I’m grateful for the care and support provided and would recommend this center to others looking for quality nursing and rehabilitation services.

Choosing a healthcare facility for a loved one is a daunting task, but San Simeon by the Sound Center stands out as a true gem in Greenport. From the moment you walk in, it is clear that this is a place that prioritizes both professional clinical care and the emotional well-being of its residents. What Makes San Simeon Special: Exceptional Staff: The nursing team and aides aren't just doing a job; they truly care. They treat residents with a level of dignity and "hometown" warmth that is hard to find in larger, more corporate facilities. The Environment: The facility is exceptionally clean, bright, and airy. Its location right on the water provides a serene, peaceful atmosphere that is incredibly therapeutic for residents and visitors alike. Rehabilitation Services: Their therapy department is fantastic. They are encouraging and patient, creating personalized goals that help residents regain their independence without feeling rushed. Community & Activities: There is a genuine sense of community here. Whether it's the organized activities or the way the staff interacts with families, you never feel like "just a number." Bottom Line: If you are looking for a facility where your family member will be treated like family, I cannot recommend San Simeon by the Sound highly enough. It provides incredible peace of mind knowing that my loved one is in such a compassionate and professional environment.

I agree with how dirty they are…. Food was pathetic for my mom who was functional. Was there only to continue her breast infection IV, after cancer was removed. Couldn’t take shower bc shower was used as storage for wheelchair, and other disgusting dirty facility stuff. No room for my mom to put her personal things in there. Sink area always full of rehab things. For an entire month it remained the same! We had to cook for her, all 3 meals! Food disgusting. The other patient was incapable of moving… eating… Food was just dropped off on table… some nurses would ask, if she wanted to eat. Always silence & nurses would just walk out. Not even trying for her to eat. Lady died at my mom’s 3rd week there. Workers stayed in offices…. Sitting around or not around at all. This facility should shut down! Workers getting easy pay, for no work. Unbelievable!!!
