About Morningview Assisted Living Residences

At Morningview we want your loved one to feel at home in their new surroundings. We are committed to making a difference in peoples’ lives by providing service of the highest quality and value in a supportive environment. We do this by offering specialized levels of care for a wide range of needs. Our first-floor apartment-style living allows residents to maintain their independence and social lives, but also offers assistance on a need-based basis. Our third-floor accompanies this philosophy of offering independence but allows for a more regular monitoring by nursing staff to help ensure health and safety when needed. Beyond this, if your loved one is in need of more constant care, Morningview has you covered as well. Our second floor offers assisted living for those with memory care needs. This means that the Morningview staff provides constant monitoring and catering to any lifestyle need that your loved one may require. By promoting good health, independence, and social interaction, we actively promote the well-being of our residents.

Tucked within the historic Singer building, located in the heart of the Notre Dame expansive campus area, Morningview has truly become a part of this rich community. Sterling Healthcare Management acquired Morningview in 2015 and has been instilling its message of “trust, care, and quality of life” ever since. The Singer building, originally a renown sewing machine manufacturing location in the 1800s, retains much of its original, rustic styling. This, combined with our recently renovated first floor, has created a sense of welcome that permeates throughout the entire facility.

My experience with Morning View was disappointing both during my mother's stay and afterward.
After my mother passed away after residing there for only 16 days in December, it took six months and multiple follow-up emails, involvement from insurance representatives, certified
letters, and copying the corporate compliance department before I finally received the refund I was owed for the unused portion of the month.
The facility deducted a $53 bank fee from the refund and, despite repeated requests, was unable to provide account-specific documentation supporting the charge. I also received conflicting information regarding the date ACH withdrawals were supposedly initiated, and my questions regarding those discrepancies were never answered.
What made this particularly difficult was that this occurred while I was grieving the loss of my mother. Families dealing with the death of a loved one should not have to spend months pursuing refunds and seeking answers to basic billing questions.
I was also left with concerns regarding communication about my mother's care and treatment during her final weeks, including questions about medications and changes in her condition that
I never felt were adequately explained.
I donated many of my mother's belongings to the facility to help future residents, and I genuinely hoped for a better experience than the one I had.
Based on my experience, I would encourage families considering this facility to ask detailed questions about both billing practices and communication procedures.

Eight months ago it became clear that my widowed 83-year old mother could not live alone due to dementia - which after a recent stroke sped her decline. With a focus on memory care, my two sisters and I visited three facilities before contacting Morningview. Thank goodness we did, as we were getting very worried about the future.

From our first encounter on the phone with Rachel, to then walking into this charming brick building, to then being greeted by Victoria at the front desk, to then meeting the Executive Director, Mitchell, and the entire care team, to then touring the clean and odorless rooms, to then see smiling residents interacting and laughing ...we knew we had found the right place after an exhaustive search. This place felt like a home, not a facility, and took away any worries we had about placing a loved one in assisted living.

All the things we were looking for fell right into place. In addition, we felt the rate was reasonable and was happy to know that Medicaid would be accepted once we secured it (a director is assisting us with this process, which we really appreciate!).

Over the past eight months my family continues to be impressed with the loving care our mother receives from the entire care team (which includes the maintenance men, Harold and Josh), the overall upbeat energy, the thorough updates, the extremely quick response time to any questions/concerns, and the amount of activities and events. Our mother receives manicures and haircuts, too! In addition, when our special needs brother passed away shortly after our mother moved to Morningview, the staff went above-and-beyond to care for a grieving mother.

We are truly blessed and would recommend Morningview to any family searching for a great place for a loved one to call home. Thank you, Morningview, for providing our entire family with peace and comfort.

My aunt was at this facility when my cousins could not manage her dementia. It was a very hard decision for the family to make because in our culture we take care of our parents until the end. Unfortunately it was just impossible since they all work and have families of their own. they all wanted her to be happy and safe. At morning view my Aunt is safe, they treat her like family and every single time we visit we see how wonderful she is treated and cared for, they couldn't have picked a better place for her to spend the rest of her life.

Morningview welcomed dad kindly. They made the transition from home to assisted living very easy and helped we the family every step of the way. The staff cares greatly for their residents and they watch the health and welfare of them highly. We appreciate all who are helping dad in the front line and those behind the scenes make a high difference too. Thank you for all that you do.

When we realized that mom needed more care than we could provide for her at home we started visiting area assisted living facilities. We were limited to our selection because she is on Medicaid . We walked through several facilities before we found Morningview. We visited Morningview twice before deciding that this place felt right. The other facilities felt very sterile and very much like, a facility and not a home. The aesthetics of the building are old brick, wood floors, warm lighting. Of course the looks are not enough to make a decision for the well being and care of a loved one. It is what Morningview is as a whole. Nursing care 24/7. A dedicated care team that includes the aides that interact with the residents everyday. The dietary staff that know the residents by name. The nurse on the floor that sees to the residents needs from medications to accessing a them should an episode occur and reaching out to family keeping them informed. Victoria, usually the first smile you see when you enter the building. That young lady has the pulse on that building. She is a gem. And of course Mitch the director and his crew. They are the most engaged, caring, knowledgeable, and helpful group. (Forgive me for not naming all of you) From concerns with paperwork to meeting with you about the well being and improvement of quality of life for your loved one, they will always have the time for you. Mom has been there over 2 yrs and even in her stage of dementia she knows Morningview and the residents and the staff as her home. Morningview has helped me find ways to benefit mom’s well being from getting her hair done every Monday to getting her showered and dressed for the day on schedule. And the efforts Morningview makes creating activity events for the pleasure of their residents. Any concerns I have they walk me through a favorable end result.
