Not one person at this facility was competent enough to realize that my grandma was experience life threatening medical issues. This place should be shut down. The care is nonexistent. I expressed my concerns for the symptoms my grandma was experiencing and they brushed them off as if they were normal after surgery. (She went in completely fine from knee surgery and just needed short term physical therapy) When I went to see my grandma she was almost non responsive with consistent tremors which were not part of her normal behaviors. She wasn’t able to eat or drink by herself and no one at this facility helped her. I spent multiple days and many hours each day begging someone to take my grandmas issues seriously. No one even batted an eye. No one wanted to help. She wasn’t able to get up to do physical therapy and NO ONE thought this was abnormal. They said her vitals were fine and her blood work was ok. I asked them to take her to the hospital and they assured me she was ok and the tremors were normal from medication. I asked multiple times for her to have an IV put in for hydration and was told they would. When I went back later in the day, there was no IV in and no one was giving any attention to the concerns I was having about her. She was clearly very uncomfortable and in intense pain. No one took my concerns or her concerns seriously at all. I finally had enough and demanded Emergency Services to be called. When she arrived at the hospital they assured me that this was NOT normal behavior. She had a fever of 105. She was brought into the emergency room covered in her own feces (which was dry so she must have been sitting it in for a while) and blisters on her bottom from improper treatment. NO ONE from Monsignor cleaned her or told me that she had a fever. The APRN from Monsignor told me that she did not have any infections which she did indeed have and the hospital confirmed an infection in her blood stream. I even asked for her blood work at Monsignor and they told me that don’t have a way for me to have access to it. An infection this serious would have shown up on their blood work. The doctors at the hospital were in disbelief about the care she received from this facility. She was completely neglected here for life threatening problems and now our family doesn’t know which way the situation will go. Maybe if this place paid more attention to our concerns earlier she would have been in a better situation with a more positive outcome.
