Please be advised of the practices at this facility. Staff members have been known to contact the referring agency and provide inaccurate information. I informed the wound care manager that the current treatment plan was no longer safe for the resident. She insisted that I follow orders, and when I explained that she needed to assess the wound before I could proceed, she refused until I informed the Director of Nursing that I would not complete an unsafe order and required her to examine it. She then failed to notify the provider and simply entered a new order. They then claimed that I had not completed the required documentation, despite the fact that I had completed everything and even notified the Director of Nursing, who did not express any concern about the wound treatment. Additionally, it is a safety hazard for the nurse to leave the floor to supervise the dining room two floors below, leaving no nurse on the floor for 30 to 45 minutes. It is also unsafe for one nurse to be responsible for two floors, one upstairs and one downstairs. I will also be forwarding this notification to the State. This facility has numerous unsafe practices, and I will not remain silent.
