I spent 2 months as a resident and 3 months as an outpatient at Menno Haven Rehab Center. On the residential side the staff and medical personnel were always kind and courteous. The room was always clean, and the meals were well prepared with plenty of choices. The CNAs, LPNs and RNs are all topnotch. The therapists in Occupational and Physical therapy are always kind, patient, friendly and very competent.

I used to think this institution was Chambersburg's best. I was horribly mistaken! My experience with this facility has been disappointing due to ongoing communication challenges, inconsistent service, and interactions that often felt dismissive rather than supportive. Staff members frequently appeared unresponsive to concerns, and important issues were not always addressed in a timely or effective manner. The overall environment lacked the professionalism, courtesy, and accountability that patients, residents, and families should reasonably expect. These issues created unnecessary frustration and diminished confidence in the quality of care and service being provided. Grade: F for fail.

Beautiful interior design in their waiting room. Visited here for my family's doctor. It was a good visit.

If you hate your mother (or any other loved one) and want them to cry daily, Meno Haven Rehab Center is the perfect place. Think of it as a live-action torture chamber disguised as “rehab.” Need to use the restroom? Great! Just plan on waiting about an hour while staff perfect their excuse-making skills. It’s character-building, apparently. If your doctor left clear instructions for care, don’t worry—those will be ignored or buried under the all-too-familiar “we’re understaffed” line. Because, naturally, that should now be the patient’s problem. And let’s not forget the highlight: one particular nurse who missed her true calling as a toll-booth operator or Walmart greeter. Rudeness here isn’t just a personality trait—it’s practically a job requirement. At least for this hateful lady! Patient advocacy? Nonexistent. Compassion? Misplaced. Excuses? Endless. So, if you’re searching for a place to send your mother-in-law (the one you’ll never get along with), look no further. She’ll be miserable, poorly cared for, and endlessly waiting for help that doesn’t come.
