My mother is here and being that Iam a cna I can understand the reason for some of the comments up above. I also can say that aslong as you the family stay involved they are involved and honestly even when they are not they still are. The workers really try to give all they can to the residents but at the same time it’s so much they can do short staff (blame the state not the place nor people. Working in facilities I’ve learned that the budget can only do so much but it leaves our loved ones being left unattended and without. There needs to be more awareness of elderly care done. At the end of the day I’ve learned being kind and talking about issues makes a better place for anyone.

I had fun it was only the house. The house isn't even the real thing. I thought I was going to be learing about the wars or something. It was about the family. It was very boring and I wouldn't recommend the house with kids.

Like anyone entering into a new situation and different surroundings, I was viewing my stay at Magnolia Gardens with trepidation. These feelings we're soon put to rest when I began to meet the various department heads, the administrator and the staff. As a group, they were welcoming and concerned that my stay would be as pleasant as possible and, in that, they succeeded. During my stay of over 14 weeks, I was well cared for and made to feel as "at home" as possible. I had a problem with only one staff member and that was handled immediately by the supervisor. The only consistent problem I experienced was the food. There was almost no variety in breakfast items available and, in a vast majority of the time, it was cold or, at best, lukewarm when it was delivered. Lunch and dinner we're generally better, but food temperature was erratic. I learned to appreciate the chef salad. One thing that I have to say in the food service department's defense is that the water quality in Rowan County is horrendous. I have never tasted water that left such a bad taste in my mouth. When I mentioned this to staff members, every one said that they didn't drink the water in the county. They all drank bottled water. As a result of the foul taste of the water, everything that was prepared using it was affected by the taste. I began to drink bottled water, too. Why is the county allowed to provide such inferior drinking water? I live in Forsyth County and we use water from the same source, the Yadkin River. There is no foul taste our water. I would like to thank everyone at Magnolia Gardens for their patience, care and great attitude in assisting in my recovery, including the P.A. department. I couldn't have done it without you!

The building itself is a bit dated but the staff and residents are very happy. In fact, when my older sister went to check the place out one of the residence came up to her and said, "I hope that your mom is as happy as I am." That right there says a lot. My mother seems happier than she has in a long time. Something that I'm very grateful for. I've been to bad facilities before and this is definitely not one. It is a really great one. I know that no place can make everyone happy which is obvious by reading the other reviews. The staff are kind and courteous and there hasn't been any issues really to speak of besides one resident who is no longer there and my mother just didn't get along. Not the staff's fault since different people clash for various reasons.
