About LongCrest

LongCrest is an affordable housing community for seniors ages 62 and older in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The community features 52 newly constructed apartments designed for low-income residents, with one and two-bedroom floor plans available, including accessible units for those with mobility and hearing or vision impairments.

Presbyterian Senior Living developed LongCrest by repurposing the original Long Home building, constructed in 1905 to serve seniors with limited resources, and a carriage house to create common spaces. The community includes a large community room with kitchen, fitness center, reading room, two libraries, a learning center, porches, and sun rooms. On-site laundry facilities with front-load washers and dryers are available to residents.

Rent at LongCrest includes water, sewer, trash, and all utilities including heat and air conditioning. Each apartment has ample closet space, with additional storage lockers available. Residents are provided mini blinds on windows and may install their own window treatments. To qualify, applicants must be 62 or older with household income below 60% of area median income for Lancaster County; Housing Choice and VASH Vouchers are accepted.

A Resident Services Coordinator assists residents with accessing available resources and services, and plans community activities including monthly potluck dinners, movie and game nights, bingo, music nights, themed holiday parties, and health and wellness programs. The community welcomes all household members to participate in these social and recreational opportunities.

I, also have lived here since 'opening' day.... July 3 of 2020..Great folks here for sure!! I used to be able to get to all of the wonderful 'parties' that they have here for all of us. I haven't been able to as much as I used to! I try, but health isn't what it was... People bring me 'snacks' from the parties! I always try to 'bake or make' something for them. I Very Much miss seeing everyone. But I'll get back into the swing of everything very soon.... The Staff is terrific here. Kind 😇 & very helpful!!! Grateful to be here!!

Yes,This place is a fraud to local seniors. What a disappointment. More than two years waiting for the opportunity to have an apartment in Longcrest. I was following up on my application via email and they told me that nothing was available and this past week they told me that they had sent me a letter and calls and that we did not respond. I never received a letter because it was sent to the wrong address, nor did I receive any calls. And now they tell me that my application was eliminated and that I have to fill out a new application and wait I don't know how many more years, if the opportunity arises. How awful. I wonder: is it because we are Hispanic or because my income is not high? It is unfortunate that we are deceived in this way.
