My wife and I are grateful to have the means to be residents of the community for seniors called Lenoir Woods. It is a place, a staff, and a community of residents characterized by conscientious and otherwise competent care and kindness, genuine friendliness, and joy. If only the food selection always included pinto beans and mung beans (both without sugar added), we could not think of a better place to live at this stage of our lives!

Lenoir Woods has been my saving grace for the past 6 years. I was fortunate to be able to move to Lenoir when my husband became ill and I was unable to care for him. I moved him to the care center and I was able to procure an apartment in independent living. The atmosphere here is so wonderful and the residents and staff are just amazing. I am so blessed to call this my home.

I would urge a great deal of caution before selecting Lenoir. My uncle moved out there into a home for independent living about 8 years ago. About a year ago he moved into assisted living in one of their apartments. At first it was pretty good. The quality of the care is good. The food, which was good at first has since become disgusting. Often, he gets a cold hot dog or slice of pizza. The meals are almost always cold. They blame it on "staffing and operational" changes. Now,they are charging outrageous prices to dispense his medications, over a thousand dollars a month. He has Medicare and good insurance so we don't understand why they are charging so much. We will be investigating alternatives and looking elsewhere. Since he moved out there, the quality of the care has become unacceptable and the costs have continued to increase. He isn't happy there. Their primary goal is to make a profit.

My mom made the decision to move into independent living. After researching many places, we chose Lenoir Woods. The residents are very welcoming, numerous fun activities are available, and three restaurants provide delicious, nutritious food. I highly recommend Lenoir Woods!

After about 15 months at Lenoir Woods we are feeling quite at home. We appreciate very much the quality of the staff in all positions. They seem to be intent on our well-being. Friendly and helpful. Some even go out of their way to help meet our needs. I enjoy the smiles, the little hugs and how many of them can call us by name. Our apartment is very comfortable and we feel that whatever we need to take care of our living space is readily available. The food is very good, the many activities are varied and very informative and interesting, and there is so much available to help us stay fit physically, spiritually and mentally. And finally, the residents have become our friends and family. Caring, friendly and supportive and present when we are celebrating something wonderful or struggling with difficulties. Thanks for providing a good place to spend these special years of our life. James and Marie
