My aunt lived at Devon Oaks for nearly 10 years and recieved excellent care. I visited her at least once a week, and she was alway up, dressed, and in her chair watching sports, reading or doing her adult coloring. She loved living there and they loved her. When she passed away at age 101, the staff was in there crying alongside me. As a nonprofit organization, they are able to provide more personalized care than many of the corporate facilities. The outdoor grounds and inside areas are very attractive and clean. Whenever outside professinal healthcare providers came in to see her for things like PT, OT and even hospice, they all would tell me that this is one of the nicer places they go to. Perhaps most striking to me is that her standard of care remained high even after she switched over to Medicaid. I have cared for multiple elderly family members, and I have seen the good, bad, and the ugly over the years. Highly recommend Devon Oaks.

this place is awful!! i went to visit my dying aunt and when i arrived to her room she was found half way hanging off her bed. she had fallen asleep while struggling to get her urine SOAKED diaper off herself since nobody else had been around to help her in so long. luckily while i was looking for somebody to help us an aid was on the elevator so i was able to have her come help. she wasn’t very punctual though, dragged her feet getting to her room. she got my aunt cleaned up though, helped her shower and all that. my aunt is malnourished, and slowing down. she isn’t drinking or eating much so she had to have been sitting in that diaper for a very long time for it to have been soaked all the way through, to her clothes and all her blankets. it is disturbing and disgusting that they don’t check on these people frequently enough. no way should she have been so uncomfortable that she had to try changing herself in her final days. it’s not right and down right vial!! never bring your loved ones here, they will be ignored for god knows how long!!

The director, head nurse, chef and those leading activities are responsive and kind. Lots of activities are available. Even the young people serving the food are kind and caring towards the residents. It would nice if the residents' suites were more appealing. The walls and carpet are bland and utilitarian. Overall, though, it's a good place.

Devon Oaks is the best place around! The staff is caring, patient and attentive. The building is clean, smells great and the gardens are stunning in the summer. My grandmother has made many new friends, enjoys the programs and said "why didn't I come here sooner?!" Keep up the great work!!
