My mother is a resident at Cedar Living. I do not have enough good things to say about the care she receives. The staff is kind, attentive, knowledgeable and they all take the time to learn about their residents. The facilities are clean and comfortable, with a number of activities to keep everyone social. Meals are freshly prepared and delicious. Transitioning a parent to assisted living can be very emotional. Derek Hansen made the move seamless and was key in making my family comfortable with this decision. I would also like to thank Nadia who is key in ensuring my mother’s medical needs are met. Short of the long…I feel very fortunate to have found such an outstanding facility!

I spoke to Derek on the phone and asked about pricing and availability. He was not helpful to provide details about the facility or pricing, gave me an average price that residents pay, and then accused me of calling to do a "market comparison" and not calling to find a place in the interest of my loved ones. He told me I could go to the website to get any other information that I was looking for and that he had nothing else to share. I am shocked how insensitive and uncompassionate Derek was during a conversation that is difficult for anyone looking to find a new home for their family members.

If you're looking for upscale premises, this isn't your place. If you're looking for a place where the staff REALLY care about and enjoy the residents (and each other), and everyone is happy - this is the place. And the families of the residents know each other and many have dinner with their loved one most nights. I haven't been to another facility where the atmosphere was happy. I checked a lot of places and my mother was in a different, supposedly elite place - fancy, super clean and efficient and extremely expensive. But it wasn't a happy place. My mother wasn't happy. And they weren't responsive at all! At Cedar living, everyone is responsive. Cedar Living is totally different than the others - it isn't part of a major chain. It's not institutional. Everything is in one large area - so people are together. The whole staff pitches in - a cook who does manicures. They all observe what's happening. I've gotten unsolicited texts with pictures of my mother doing something which made her happy. This is the only place I actually felt good about putting my mother in. She's been there 2 months and she is so much happier than before.

Only 16 residents. Everyone knows the residents and in turn the residents know the caregivers. Meals are home made and.can be adjusted to meet the.dietary needs of the residents. It’s a happy place.
