Had an excellent and informative tour of the Carlisle in SF and liked many things about it. It has the most spacious, light and bright apartments of all the places we have seen, with lovely big balconies to give you an outdoor space of your own. Well appointed kitchen and own washer/dryer in unit is great. Bathrooms needed updating, but that wouldn't be hard to do. I prefer white or neutral paint rather than buttery/cream for walls, but again - not hard to change! Spacious resident lounge/community space and dining room, plus an outdoor shared space too. Menu looked good - all meals are included and you can take your dinner on a tray up to your room if you want to. Great location on the edge of the Japan Town neighborhood and close to good bus routes. Loved concierge driver always available or Lyft if needed, provided by the Carlisle, and the small but adequate movie room. Love that you can stay in your apartment and as and when you need it, the assistance with day to day living needs will come to assist you there rather than needing to go into a "separate wing!" No memory care on site, but there is a sister building nearby. Never saw them, but there's supposed to be a gym, library and art room - need to go back to see them. Car parking worked well. Downside - common parts felt dated and tired and therefore a bit depressing, but I'm sure there's a plan for a refresh/update, and you live mostly in your apartment not the common parts, so I'm sure I'd get used to it!

We moved my parents into the Carlisle a year ago and could not be more pleased with the services. From the services provided, the activities, to the food-- everything is top notch. What truly makes this place stand out are the people. Everyone is thoughtful kind, professional, and goes out of their way to ensure the best care is provided at all times. We are so grateful to the entire staff every day for the care they provide our parents in this stage of life. We feel very lucky to be there.

The Seder at the Carlisle was superb. The staff went all out in fulfilling our requests. The Chef, Larry and the rest of the kitchen staff prepared a great traditional meal. The dining room staff set up a festive table and served the diners impeccably. If I could, I'd give them ten stars.

We have only lived at The Carlisle for three weeks but are feeling very comfortable here. We think this is because staff and residents are so friendly and helpful. From the very first day residents and staff would stop and introduce themselves. There is a variety of activities and really delicious meals served in the dining room. We feel that people here care about each other.
