Over the past 8 years, and a series of extended stays for Mom, our family can without question recommend CareOne at Madison Ave as a first-rate nursing home and rehab facility, led by a capable dedicated staff across all departments. Starting at the front desk, every single person there makes it a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents and visitors alike. It’s always easy to communicate and coordinate vital details with Admissions, Billing, and Social Workers. Outstanding Nurses on every floor, attending Doctors, endlessly helpful Health Aides, a topnotch range of physical and cognitive Therapists, all of whom do a wonderful job. An equally caring Activities Team who keep residents involved with a fun monthly calendar ensuring daily personal interaction with others. Constant maintenance of clean rooms and surrounding areas. And just as important to a happy stay, they offer menu choices based on diet, and VERY GOOD Chefs' homemade meals. Having gone through this process, I realize that finding/deciding on the best place for any individual situation can be a challenge. So I’m sharing our experience to hopefully make your search easier, and if you’re considering options throughout the tri-state area, I’d say it’s well worth a visit to explore CareOne at Madison Ave. It’s housed in a well-maintained sprawling old mansion set back in a quiet location away from the bustle of town, yet right down the street from the excellent Morristown Medical Center, nearby access to route 287, plenty of onsite parking. Everybody we’ve encountered on staff through the years takes care of the residents as if they were their own family. That’s why we truly see this as a home away from home. There’s no greater compliment than trusting others with the care of a loved one. Thank you, CareOne!

To my friend Rebecca who is Recreation Director at CareOne in Morristown. I am writing a review for some of your events and activities. I have been in a nursing home for 4 years, 3 and a half here. I am an 82-year-old male. The events here include; arts & crafts, religious, baking, fitness and athletics, concerts, movies, nursing home meetings, holiday decorations and luncheons, birthday parties, snacks, talks/chats, games, singing, dancing, pet visits, ice cream socials, picnics & BBQs, days for dogs to visit, planting and flowering. We are located on a corner property with a lot of trees and lawn on the old millionaire's mile, i.e. the street of 100 millionaires. I am aware of a lot of the events. I also spend time with other departments like physical therapy, cognitive therapy, psych-local therapy, so I do go to all activities. They are all a listed on our monthly calendars which are posted in everyone's rooms. The events I have attended I enjoyed thoroughly. Becca is an amazing events manager and resident council management head! Bill C.

As with any rehabilitation facility, there are both positives and areas that could use improvement. The Good: One of the first things I noticed when I arrived was how clean and welcoming the facility was. Having been in six other rehabilitation facilities before, I was pleasantly surprised by how responsive the staff here has been to patients’ needs. By far, this facility has had the best response times compared to my previous experiences. The physical therapy team works hard to engage patients and is both compassionate and professional. The nurses are highly skilled as well. Having been a patient in healthcare settings for many years, I can honestly say the nursing staff here demonstrates a level of skill that, in some cases, exceeds what I have experienced in hospitals and other facilities. The administrative staff I’ve worked with has also been responsive and helpful. The Bad: Unfortunately, some of the nurse aides could benefit from stronger management and supervision. While response times are generally better than other facilities, call bell times could still improve. The meals also need significant improvement. Some are acceptable, but many could use much more care and attention. Although there is a menu and substitutions can be requested, the food quality remains inconsistent. Overall, I am hopeful to continue making positive progress so I can safely return home and ambulate independently again. Since I am just beginning my therapy journey here, it is still too early to fully judge its effectiveness. However, if I had to choose a rehabilitation facility again, I would come back here. I can honestly say that CareOne at Madison Avenue has been, by far, the best facility I have experienced compared to the six others I have been in. May God bless you in your recovery.

My experience overall was good. The staff made my stay comfortable and made me think about how people really care! The physical therapy department was the best! They got me to walk more and taught me how to take one step at a time; as with life. Terry, my unit nurse, Monique and Camille were very nice ladies, nurses and my cna. Jonathan, was very good with me, in making me laugh and know when times are serious with my situation. It was a great place to come and get better.

I have been here at CareOne Madison since February 2023. I always liked Morristown and I was at my college 50th reunion in Madison and my girlfriend loved Madison. CareOne in Morristown is a beautiful old mansion with a very nice piece of property. I am currently getting psychological, physical and cognitive therapy. They have plenty of events to go to and I always find ones I like. Sometimes I get my favorite foods, and they try very hard to please. They do have a nice group of people to socialize with, be it males and females. The view from my window is plenty of nature and so far, I have been on three floors in three different rooms. Excellent staff and visitors. CareOne in Madison Ave. is definitely a winner! Sincerly, William E. Connelly
