This place is a joke. We went in toured and filled out all the paperwork. They assessed my grandpa and stated they accepted him and had a room for him. While we waited for the documents to be completed by his current doctor I received 3-4 calls a week asking about the documents. Once I finally received and dropped off the last of the documents we confirmed a move-in date. We were set to move him on a Saturday and let his current facility know we would we moving him. We bought him items for his move into Brookdale and everything was set. Until Thursday afternoon when I was sent a Text message saying don't move your grandfather from the other place. That was it, no follow-up, no phone call, no explanation. Once I finally received a phone call after multiple texts and phone calls trying to figure out what was going on. They stated that the nurse that evaluated him didnt complete a thorough evaluation and he would need to be reassed in 30 days. After we spoke further Darren stated he would run our conversation up to the director and get back to me. It is now Monday and I have not heard back from them. Our case manager tried reaching them and the director refused to speak to her.<br>Our family has been stressed all weekend not knowing what was going on or why this is happening. How could a care facility that claims they take the family and the community members needs and care with compassion and priority. This treatment is completely unprofessional and heartless.

Referred to Brookdale by a family member and did an impromptu walk-in visit hoping for a tour of this community. INSTANTLY smacked in the face by the smell of urine. I was looking around while waiting for reception to finish on the phone, (at least she was professional- hence the one star) and the floors were horrendous, stained and filthy. I decided to start exploring on my own and overheard comments from staff about being “short staffed again.” As I was leaving the receptionist was off the phone and this time I asked for the executive director to introduce myself but Dora wasn’t available (for a walk in/tour? Not a great impression). The concierge tried to get me to speak with a sales associate, but I declined. The sales person doesn’t run the building, I wanted to speak to the head honcho. I grabbed her business card and called later in the day as well as the following day but can’t seem to EVER get through to Dora.<br><br>Dirty, understaffed, and leadership clearly isn’t around. No chance I’m moving a family member here. I didn’t realize Brookdale had taken such a nose dive. Truly disappointing.
