A Word From Our Administrator Johneil Briones!

Hello my name is Johneil Briones. I would like to introduce myself as the administrator of Brio Manor Board and Care, a unique residential home for the elderly.

Born in Santa Monica, California and moved to Thousand Oaks, California in the early 1980’s. I received my Bachelor’s Degree after graduating from San Diego State University.

My story started long ago when my father had a heart-attack, our family had a difficult time caring for him with the stress’ of everyday life while working and raising a family. I found my passion for helping the elderly during the countless nights and shifts looking after my father. At the time, I was aspiring to get into computer programming but the life experiences I encountered at that point changed my direction. As tragic as it was I thank the Lord after that experience, from that point on I knew I wanted to assist the elderly to make a difference helping and connecting with families and being a solution. With the support of family and friends, we opened Brio Manor Board and Care, a senior living facility in Thousand Oaks, CA, in 2013. My enjoyment for caring for others encouraged me to create a senior living care home to continue our work in our community.

I empathize with the busy lives families lead these days, and how difficult it can be to devote the time and attention one would like to an aging parent. I set the highest of standards to ensure that our board and care staff and our residents feel loving care in an active and cheerful environment. We assist in rehabilitation to live in the comforts of home.

Please feel free to call with questions or arrange an appointment to visit our senior assisted living home and see how Brio Manor Board and Care can be of service to your family!

Our family entrusted Brio Manor with the care of our 94-year-old mother during the final weeks of her life, and we are grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to both Mom and our family. Moving a loved one into assisted living and hospice care is an emotional and difficult decision. From the moment Mom arrived, the caregivers ; Bing, George and Johneil worked hard to make her feel comfortable and welcomed. They took the time to get to know her, encouraged her to participate with the other residents, and cared for her with dignity during her final days. As with any end-of-life journey, there were moments where family had questions and concerns, and Brio’s staff took the time to listen, communicate with us, and work through those concerns together. We especially appreciated their willingness to partner with our family and respect our wishes while always keeping Mom’s comfort and safety at the center of her care. After Mom’s passing, Johneil was kind, responsive, and fair in helping us navigate the administrative details, including the final account reconciliation. That meant a great deal to our family during an already difficult time. Thank you to everyone at Brio Manor for caring for our mother with kindness, dignity, and compassion. We will always be grateful that she spent her final days surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her. — The Family of Barbara Boatner

Lovely home in quiet neighborhood. Clean, organized, with a warm home-like feel. Care givers are excellent, very attentive, and do a great job keeping each resident safe, healthy, and happy. Owner is highly involved in the day to day operations and is only a phone call away. I highly recommend this board care for your elderly loved one.

My mother-in-law arrived at Brio in a wheelchair, frail & failing. Within a few weeks, the wonderful caregivers at Brio had her putting on much needed weight, up again & taking short, accompanied walks in their pretty neighborhood. She loved owner Johneil, who was always happy to spend time kibitzing about her beloved Dodgers. During her time at Brio until her passing at 97 years old, the staff was kind, caring and so lovingly supportive of her and our family.

My Mom entered Brio Manor just about five years ago. Over these years, the staff has been caring and loving towards all the residents. It is truly a home where residents & their loved ones are treated like family. The owner, Johneil, gets to know each of the residents & their families. You can always call on him or the staff. We have been blessed to have found this home for our Mom. She loves it!

I’m so grateful for the care and compassion shown by everyone at Brio Manor Board & Care. From the moment we toured the facility, it was clear that family and dignity come first here. The staff are deeply committed to their residents — they know them personally, learn their likes and needs, and make sure each person feels comfortable and valued. Many reviews highlight how attentive, warm, and professional the caregivers are, and how the small, family-style environment helps residents thrive. The facility is always kept clean and welcoming, with home-cooked meals prepared fresh every day. The owner and care team are consistently involved, responsive, and truly go above and beyond — making this one of the best board and care homes we found in the area. If you’re looking for a nurturing, safe, and personalized care setting for your loved one, Brio Manor is an outstanding choice.
