Please do not misunderstand me. There are some hard- working, caring people there. But this is a low-end nursing home, and it is definitely a nursing home. I was sent there for rehab after knee replacement surgery and they really do not offer that. I was admitted on a Friday and they were not going to be able to have a physical therapist see me until Tuesday due to a holiday weekend. I was able to walk fine on my own but not allowed to go to the bathroom or do anything without assistance that I did not need. When the CNA came to do a TB test at 2:00 in the morning and then an hour later someone came to check my" briefs" ( which I definitely was not wearing) I was very irritated. All rooms are semi-privant or shared and the the patients are not generally very lucid. I survived 24 hours and checked out. I knew it wasn't the right place for me. Sadly I have fallen through the cracks at Goshen Health now as well so I have had no PT at all. 9 days after major surgery. I am going to switch to a different rehab service. But I am doing fine, walking without assistance, taking showers, climbing stairs ..... all of it would be much safer and better if I had some PT guidance but I have not been able to get that. As for Avalon village, I am riding an article for publication entitled ' One night in a nursing home" and it will compare the experience I had to the experience that I thought I was going to be getting in rehab.

So manyworking their self to the bone. Need anything and they're there to do all they can to be of help I told many of them I would marry each and everyone of them cause of their beauty and knowledge of the job. They are not perfect but I hope management knows how much they put in to their job and how much everyone sharing simple pat on the head or a smile and kind words means to all uus here in the home. Every day I hear them tell tell you and them they are LOVED.

My mother was in here for rehabilitation. Sadly her illness was more than any of us realized and took her sooner than we could keep up with. The staff and care team that took care of her were absolutely amazing. I felt comfortable when I left that she was being cared for. They were always up front with me and told me what was happening and what to expect. When she passed if felt so supported. I cannot imagine going through what I just went through without them.

My family and I toured this facility in hopes of finding a wonderful place for my mother. This place was so beyond wonderful from the cleanliness of the building to the interaction with the staff. The staff members were very nice, polite, kind and professional. The Admissions Director Desiree, was very knowledgeable in the information she provided to myself and my family and she made my family feel such at ease when it comes to finding the best care for my mother. We definitely look forward to making Avalon a home for my mother.
