Care is provided by two caregivers throughout the day, an awake caregiver overnight, and a registered nurse available 24 hours a day. Each resident has their own private bedroom in a residential home setting rather than shared rooms or hospital-style facilities. The community coordinates medical appointments, family events, and other logistics for residents and families.

The Castillo features a dedicated chef on staff who prepares seasonal menus and accommodates any dietary needs, along with special-occasion dining. Complimentary personal services included in the monthly rate are available by appointment in the home, including manicures, pedicures, haircuts, and massage therapy.

The shared private courtyard between the two homes includes gardens, walking paths, and outdoor seating areas for residents. The residential spaces feature soaring ceilings, hand-carved millwork, and herringbone floors designed to maintain a home-like atmosphere rather than an institutional environment.

The Castillo is intentionally small and accepts a limited number of residents to preserve the experience. The community is licensed by the California Department of Social Services.
