My Dad was a resident here and this family is so very thankful for the care and compassion our dad received while he was at The Woodlands. He was on the memory care unit and sometimes he wasn't always the easiest to deal with, but that wasn't a problem for this amazing staff, they always treated him with kindness, respect and made him feel included. I seen this care extended not only to him but the other residents as well time and time again. Thank you all for not only the love and care you gave my dad but the comfort you gave this family knowing he was in good hands.

Recently a family member was there. Staff with leave them in for chair for hours even though they complained of pain, it was often long time before they would clean them up. And the food was horrible

I had high hopes for The Woodlands based off of the online reviews and from the visit my mom received from the HR director, Bailey, while she was still in the hospital awaiting discharge. But, to our great disappointment, The Woodlands did not meet our expectations. Here are the highlights from my mom's 2-week rehab stay: 1) horrible hard, old bed with broken rails the night of check in 2) mom contracted Covid in the facility (probably due to crowded room conditions and lack of using hand sanitizer among staff) No one called to tell us she had Covid 3) lack of ice / water on a consistent basis (we had to fight every day to get her water/ice -- they have cups, no pitchers) 4) Mom got dehydrated (no surprise), got double pneumonia - and she ended up laying in bed dehydrated an entire day because the nurse on duty couldn't find a vein to insert IV for fluids & didn't know how to do an abdominal IV. My sister had to make an emergency 2-hour trip to get things straightened out 5) The NP, Shannon Sitgreaves was inattentive, did not come to room to check on mom when I was there the first day 6) NP, Shannon also accidentally ordered another IV fluid bag for mom after a serious miscommunication with her nurse (I told director, Kevin Spaugh that they could have killed my mom had that been medication and not just fluids 7) Night nurse, Clayton was rude and turned IV drip on full blast after the error bag was ordered. Mom peed the entire bed and herself and had to be changed. Bag was empty in just 5 hours. 8) A tech took blood without using tourniquet and hurt mom badly -- blew out her vein -- and left a huge purple bruise 7) Only two positives: The PT people were great & an aid named Deborah was friendly and talked to Mom a lot. Recommendations: Do not put your loved one there unless you can be there every single day to advocate for their care. Do not accept a double room under any circumstances. Do not expect good communication / care from the NP.
