Went into this brand new RCH today as I am considering placing a client here. It is my first time here and the place is beautiful. They did a great job cleaning up the facility and bringing it back. Fresh paint, new furniture, huge clean kitchen and a sunny dining room are what I remember. The staff was very friendly and kind. I hope the new Waterbury Gardens does well.

This place is a death sentence. I fought with them for almost 2 years as my mother's health declined due to some very disturbing treatment at that hell house. The State of CT should be ashamed and held accountable for what they allowed at this house of horror. The social workers that push patients to go to this place should be fired. My heart goes our to the residents trapped there for a check. The administration there has first-class tickets to hell. The pettiness and dirt I experienced while trying to protect my mom. The way she suffered..shame on you, State of CT, shame on you, CT Health Dept. If you are considering this place, I wouldn't send my enemy here. it's so bad. To this day, no one has been held responsible from the State of CT, no one from the administration to the State of CT has responded or reached out to me concerning the hell my mother endured at Waterbury Gardens. Corruption and cover-ups. STAY AWAY

After my mother was in another "highly rated" Waterbury rehab, and where she was allowed to get so dehydrated that her kidneys were shutting down, we decided to move her after a 10 day hospital stay. She is well cared for in Waterbury Gardens. We are allowed to visit when we want during visiting hours. You just need to sign in and have your temp and vaccination status filled in and you are good to go. Everyone is friendly and seems to like working there. We are pleased that we made the decision to move her here.

I am sorry to have to write this, but this place needs to be looked into. My uncle had been there for months due to a severely debilitating accident. He has brain damage and cannot be an advocate for himself. My aunt tried to visit, but the facility is far away and it's difficult for her to get there often. The first point of concern is this: you must make an appointment before visiting. Even after making an appointment, my aunt has said that she has still been made to wait before she can visit him. The reason why this is concerning is because how do you know that the person is being take care of properly if you're not allowed to stop in and check without prior warning? Fast forward to today. My uncle has a bed sore that has gone all the way to the bone. I don't know the level of pain he is in--I can't and don't want to imagine. What I do know is that his position was unchanged for long enough periods of time that his bedsore is now very serious. He was transferred to the hospital and the prognosis is grave.

If I could give this place a negative score , I would. Shame on you Gov. Ned Lamont. How can you allow such a facility to be ran in the great state of Connecticut. This nursing home even looks like an Insane Asylum from the outside. Please do not put your loved ones here. The staff never answer their phones nor do they return calls from family. My father was sent to rehab and his condition got worse. He was given too much insulin he also was not properly fed. He was not being Fed like a diabetic however they were giving him his insulin injections. He was not being turned and positioned properly and developed bed sores. He was admitted to St. Mary’s last night non responsive. Many test were ran and this morning he was diagnosed with MRSA.
