About The Villages of Lake Highlands

Villages of Lake Highlands is a locally owned skilled nursing and memory care community in Dallas, Texas, offering a broad spectrum of healthcare services in a setting designed for refined, non-institutional comfort. The campus features one hundred private guest rooms and fifty-four companion guest suites, with residential-style furnishings and lush courtyards throughout.

The community provides transitional care for guests moving from an acute hospital stay back to home, including physical, speech, and occupational therapy delivered in a 4,000 square foot rehabilitation gym. The gym includes a full-size practice apartment where residents work with therapists on daily living tasks such as making a bed, using a washer, or stepping into a bathtub, helping them regain confidence before returning home.

Skilled nursing services are available around the clock, with continuous registered nurse coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays, and several RNs on site each weekday. The skilled nursing team manages a range of complex conditions including wound care, cardiac care, respiratory and pulmonary care, stroke recovery, and neurological disorders, for both short-term recovery stays and longer-term residents who are unable to return home.

Villages of Lake Highlands also operates a purpose-built memory care program designed to support residents through cognitive decline as well as accompanying health issues such as chronic illness, cardiac events, stroke, or orthopedic procedures. The memory care setting combines a residential atmosphere with higher staffing ratios and continuous RN coverage, along with structured activities and a wellness program intended to encourage socialization and support overall well-being.

Additional services include temporary respite care within both the memory care and skilled nursing settings for families needing relief from caregiving duties, as well as support connecting residents and families with palliative care or hospice programs when a symptom-management approach is chosen. The community is a preferred network provider for Southwestern Health Resources, a preferred skilled nursing partner for a leading North Texas orthopedic clinic, and a preferred provider for major Dallas-area hospital systems.

After spending the past eight weeks after getting a total knee replacement at The Villages of Lake Highlands, I can honestly say that my experience has been exceptional. I don’t usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized.
From the day I arrived, every single person treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for my well-being. During my entire stay, I never encountered a single employee with a bad attitude. That alone says a great deal about the culture of this facility.

There is a physician and a nurse practitioner who do rounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of them were never in a rush to listen to my concerns and issues with my recovery- and I had quite a few in the beginning. They even came to the PT area to make sure nobody was left out. That was truly amazing to me! The nursing staff provided excellent care and always made me feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I rang the bell in the painful stages of my recovery, someone showed up in a very timely fashion. Whenever they didn’t, I knew it was because they were busy taking care of someone else, not because they didn’t care. The physical therapy team was encouraging, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me recover and regain my strength. The housekeeping staff kept my private room spotless and comfortable, making it feel like a home rather than a medical facility.
The kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure I had meals I enjoyed. They were always accommodating and often prepared something extra when I needed it. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making my stay as pleasant as possible.
I was also impressed by the administration and leadership. Whenever I needed something, they did everything they could to make it happen. Whether it was a special request or simply making sure I was comfortable, they always responded with kindness and professionalism.
What stands out most about The Villages of Lake Highlands is the people. Every department—from administration and nursing to therapy, housekeeping, dietary services, and everyone working behind the scenes—works together with one goal: providing the best possible care for their residents. Their compassion, patience, and genuine love for the people they serve are evident every single day.
Recovering away from home can be difficult, but the staff made me feel cared for, respected, and valued throughout my entire stay. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.
I am deeply grateful to everyone at Villages of Highland Park for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care. I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine concern. Thank you all for making such a positive difference during my recovery.

0 STARS IF I COULD GIVE THEM. This place is awful from top to bottom. Outdated interior and outdated staff. These so called nursing assistants should be ashamed of themselves so should the management. A laughable operation with even laughable results. My loved one deserved better therefore we moved them out quick. I think the nurses got their license from a Cracker Jack box, I’d rather have sally sue on the corner give my mom medications then these so called trained nurses.

We had everything set up to move my brother to Villages at Lake Highlands. . He is diagnosed with Lewy Body Syndrome & Parkinson disease. The administration was wonderful to work with. They gave us guidance from the beginning. Unfortunately we were unable to get him here but they helped us get him in their sister facility they had recently purchased, Signature Point. We are awaiting his move there. I cannot thank Adam & his staff for helping us thru a very complex maze. This is a very difficult task to take on & this group actual walked us thru & made it relatively simple. Thank you!

As a healthcare administrator in the Navy with over 30 years of experience in the medical field, I have a very high standard for clinical coordination and operational excellence. Moving a loved one between skilled nursing facilities is always a complex undertaking, but when you add the logistics of a 300-mile relocation and the critical requirement of dialysis chair coordination, the margin for error is zero. The team at Villages of Lake Highlands rose to the occasion during a particularly demanding season of my life. While I was navigating a major career transition, they provided the steady hand I needed to ensure my father’s care remained seamless. Several key staff members deserve individual recognition for their dedication: • Cameron (Administrator): His leadership is evident in the facility’s culture. He went above and beyond by sharing his personal contact information, ensuring I had a direct line of communication during the move. This level of accessibility is rare and deeply appreciated. • Cynthia (Business Office): She was instrumental in navigating the financial complexities of long-term care. She worked diligently to transition my father to a Medicaid bed, which eliminated the burden of private pay costs and provided our family with immense peace of mind. • Yvette: Assisted with the daunting task of coordinating the 300+ mile transfer and the specific dialysis requirements. • Tiffany: Her support throughout the process was invaluable, contributing to the overall sense of teamwork that defines this facility. She engaged every step of the way and ensured that every "i" was dotted and every "t" was crossed for his arrival in Kerrville. I’m forever grateful! If you are looking for a facility in Dallas that understands the nuances of complex medical needs and treats families with genuine empathy, I highly recommend Villages of Lake Highlands. They don't just manage patients; they support families through difficult transitions.
