To the night shift team on the MSU unit, we are truly grateful for each of you. Amanda, Frederica, and Karla thank you for the compassion and professionalism you showed during our family member’s stay. After experiencing a not so pleasant interaction with a day shift nurse and manager, your kindness and dedication made a tremendous difference. Your competence, patience, and caring approach helped create a smooth and comfortable transition home for our loved one. We will always remember your warm attitudes, smiling faces, and the genuine care you provided during a difficult time. Thank you for everything you do.

We were considering this facility for my mother and scheduled a tour. Initially, the tour seemed fine, but things quickly changed when we witnessed how management spoke to and about their CNAs. The tone and lack of respect displayed were very concerning. If this is how staff are treated openly, it raises serious concerns about how residents might be treated behind closed doors. When I asked for the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), we were casually told that we had just passed them during the tour. To our surprise it was the ADON who was being beyond rude. That interaction alone felt dismissive and highly unprofessional. In today’s environment—especially in healthcare—kindness, professionalism, and respect should be foundational values. Unfortunately, that was not the culture we observed during our visit. It was disappointing because the therapy department appeared promising, and we were fully prepared to invest in quality care for my mother. However, the overall culture of the facility ultimately left us feeling uncomfortable. Respectful leadership and a positive workplace environment are critical indicators of the type of care residents will receive. Based on what we observed, this facility simply was not the right fit for our family.

To Fredericka on MSU, Thank you for the outstanding care you provided to my 92-year-old grandmother yesterday. Your kindness, patience, and attention to detail reassured our family, especially my mother who was worried about her hygiene and care needs. You went above and beyond, and we are grateful. Your smile and personality are so needed in the healthcare field.

My family member was on MSU and while I was there I had the pleasure of meeting Frederica E., one time on a Sunday and the other during the week on night shift. Not only did she smell amazing her attitude and the level of care she provided was simply amazing. My aunt was there due to a fall but when I say this young lady has a caring spirit and an infectious smile I mean just that. She asked if she needed assistance eating, made sure all her personal hygiene needs were met she even brushed her hair and her teeth, changed her clothes, she was just amazing. Whatever raise y’all can give her I hope she gets the maximum. My aunt is recovering well and I am grateful that I had a positive experience with at least one person on the care team before I left.

I want to thank Buck Creek Nursing Home for the incredible care they gave my grandmother, Gloria McRae. The nurses were truly amazing—always loving, attentive, and gentle with her. They kept her clean, comfortable, and treated her with dignity every day. Her private room was always nice and welcoming, and she was happy during her time there. Knowing she was cared for with such kindness gave our family great peace of mind. We are so grateful for the compassion and dedication shown to her. You so much to the nurses and caretakers you guys literally Help so much in ways that we could not and I will forever. Appreciate you and remember you.
