Some families report exceptionally positive interactions, particularly praising the therapy team's commitment to resident progress, staff responsiveness during medical events, and individual caregivers who build genuine relationships with residents. One family noted that staff "came and got my sister set up well" during a respiratory issue "with great kindness and compassion." Families also highlight the facility's practice of assigning consistent staff to residents to ensure regular visitor connection. However, other families express concern about inconsistency in care quality, noting that while some staff members are caring, others provide less than expected attention, especially for residents unable to communicate verbally. One family strongly advised visiting frequently as a safeguard.

My husband is doing rehab here and we have had some great experiences. From the communication with Ashley Rowser, to the communication and patience from the Therapy Department. You can tell that the team is patient, attentive, sensitive , empathetic, and makes you feel like your family members are there #1 priority.

I can’t recommend anything less than this facility. My advice if you have a family member wind up here: make sure you’re visiting very, very frequently. If your relative isn’t able to communicate verbally, visit even more often. Some of the staff is very caring and tries to provide care as best they can. Other members of the staff do less than the bare minimum. Administratively, they seem to have constant turnover and very little ownership of issues. Next to nothing is done to address complaints. For me, the lowest point was my grandmother’s cell phone being stolen while she passed away. Also loved the time the front office falsified my credit card authorization and started randomly charging me for a few thousand dollars. The staff seemed short handed pretty much every time I visited. This caused care to be the bare minimum most of the time. Accessing your loved one is a challenge because the door stays locked all the time but there’s not someone there to unlock it. Also when you try to leave the building, you get stuck waiting for someone to set you free. Oftentimes the staff will be unable or unwilling to help you get in or out. There were so many awful experiences here that I won’t share due to the personal nature of them, but suffice it to say that this facility needs a lot of help.

We moved my dad there last week. I was so nervous. Kim the receptionist won my dad over in the first 5 minutes and his CNA Ruby has gotten my dad to get out of the bed, hold conversations and even crack jokes again. He hasn't done that in years!!! So far I am extremely impressed. The facility also assigns all their staff to residents to make sure they have visitors daily.

I had a real good experience this past Sunday. I was visiting my sister who was having a respiratory attack. Staff named Cecilia, Mary, and Anthony came and got my sister set up well, gave her a breathing treatment, and before long she was all right. They did it with great kindness, compassion. It was one of those experiences that make you feel you're in good hands. Irene (in rehab) and Ashley, the social worker, have also been real stars. Ebony has shown kindness, empathy as well. Love my sis being around good folks! Skip Coulter

Diversicare of Riverchase is a great facility. I randomly walked in and met Mary at the front desk and did a tour of the facility with Ashley and it was great. I had the opportunity to meet various staff members and everyone was so nice. The admission process was very easy. The therapy team at the facility was amazing. They worked with my mother and she progressed so much during her stay. Sydney kept me updated on how my mother’s progress in therapy and made sure that we had everything we needed when she discharged. I would recommend this facility to anyone that wants their loved one to receive quality care. Thank you to the Diversicare team for their exceptional work with my mom.
