We moved our 92-year-old mother to Flora House from a larger assisted living facility. We were wanting a place that felt more homelike, where the staff is responsive and loving. We also wanted to have assurance that she was in good hands, where people really knew her and her needs. We have received that and much more at Flora House! Andrian and Tanya are responsive, present, and committed owners. Always available to answer questions, they know the business side of caregiving as well as the personal, relational side. The caregivers are kind, knowledgeable, professional, and loving. They take the time to get to know each resident, check in frequently, and are there to provide support with daily tasks as well as true companionship- playing bingo or just conversation. The facility is clean and comfortable. Our mother's room is spacious, and the shared spaces, dining room, family room, outdoor deck, and yard are lovingly maintained. They also provide enough activities to keep her stimulated and engaged. There is a feeling that the staff at Flora House is not just there to support the resident, but the entire family- the latest example was a backyard barbecue hosted by Andrian and Tanya for the staff, residents, and families. I am happy to offer 5 stars and recommend Flora House without reservation!

Because of unique communication challenges that our loved one presented (DeafBlind tactile Sign Language), we had been turned away by other larger facilities. We were at a crisis point when we received a referral to Flora House. The team there embraced the challenge, adapted, and provided the best compassionate care and support we could have hoped for. Our time there was a true partnership. Thank you!

Flora House is everything I was hoping to find for my loved one. Low caregiver to client ratios, consistent caregivers, a highly personalized approach, high-level of quality care, and most importantly an owner and caregivers that are Invested as partners for the benefit of my loved one. Plus it’s an absolutely beautiful place, fully ADA accessible and has a small PT area on site. We were so lucky they had an opening! My timing was exactly right. I have been looking for several months at large places and small places across all price ranges. And nothing even came close to this cottage style senior assisted living home. Flora House was recommended to me by our hospice nurse. And she was spot on. It’s the perfect match.

We came across The Flora House while searching for a senior living home for my grandmother. After touring about a dozen facilities throughout Montgomery County, we started to notice a pattern. The staff was generally kind, but many of the spaces felt dated and, for the price, just okay. From the moment we stepped into The Flora House, everything felt different. We were immediately impressed by the beautiful design, the thoughtful management, and the warmth and professionalism of the staff. It truly felt like a place where the quality matched the cost. Making the decision for my grandmother to leave her home, where she was accustomed to a high standard of living, was not easy. We didn’t want her to feel like she was giving something up or being placed just anywhere. What meant the most to us was realizing she didn’t have to sacrifice the lifestyle she was used to. The Flora House genuinely felt like home.

I’m truly grateful for the care and support our family received at the Flora House. When our family situation changed and we couldn’t safely care for our father at home, they stepped up and gave us peace of mind during an extremely stressful time. The house is clean, comfortable, accessible which mattered a lot since ours wasn’t. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it never felt like a facility. More like a real home. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and visits with our kids in the backyard were always something he looks forward to. Tanya and Andrian were kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. Knowing our father was in a place that offered thoughtful senior care and memory care support, including therapy, allowed us to breathe again and focus on being family. If you’re looking for assisted living in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, MD this is a place I would confidently recommend. We’re very thankful and happy to give them five stars. I attached a photo of the room he stayed.
