For the most part the home people were personable and professional. We were dismayed that the care lacked continuity.
There was almost always someone different most days.

To the owner"whats your the beef"

Thank you for your response.

My review was never intended to question the dedication of every caregiver who worked with my mother. There were caregivers who provided compassionate care, and I appreciate their efforts.
However, my concerns were not simply about communication or scheduling. My concerns were about safety.
As my mother's Medical Power of Attorney, I personally arrived at the home and found a caregiver outside on a cellphone while my mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and required 24-hour supervision, was alone inside. When I went into the house, I discovered my mother frightened and attempting to call me because she had not seen or heard from anyone for an extended period of time.
At the same time, I discovered that a large amount of food had been discarded from the freezer without my authorization or knowledge. While the financial loss was significant, that was never my primary concern. My immediate concern was that if someone was cleaning out the freezer, who was ensuring my mother's safety?
What continues to trouble me is not only that these events occurred, but that the caregiver who was reportedly removed from the assignment later returned to the home. The explanation provided was that a scheduling issue occurred because of problems with your computer system. Regardless of the reason, this raised serious concerns about oversight and accountability.
Most importantly, my review reflects what could have happened had I not arrived when I did. My mother was vulnerable, suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and dependent upon continuous supervision. Fortunately, no physical harm occurred, but the situation had the potential to end very differently.
I understand that client confidentiality limits what can be discussed publicly. However, I believe it is equally important to acknowledge that family members who raise safety concerns are doing so because they care deeply about their loved ones and because those concerns deserve to be taken seriously.
My mother has since passed away. The purpose of my review is not to revisit old disagreements but to share my experience and the concerns I witnessed firsthand so that other families can make informed decisions when choosing care for their loved ones.

(My original review)

My experience with this caregiving service was extremely concerning due to repeated issues with supervision, communication, and caregiver conduct while my mother with Alzheimer’s was receiving 24-hour in-home care.
On one occasion, I arrived to find a caregiver outside on her phone while my mother was left alone inside, frightened and confused. I later found my mother holding my phone number, trying to call for help because she felt abandoned.
After reporting this, I was assured the caregiver would no longer be assigned, but she later appeared in the home again. I was also told there had been a scheduling error. Shortly after, I discovered a freezer door left open with the alarm sounding while a caregiver was present.
Although I was told the situation was being handled and reimbursement for discarded food would be reviewed, the follow-up response I received disputed the condition and value of the items and ultimately denied reimbursement.
Due to multiple incidents, conflicting information, and ongoing safety concerns, I ultimately no longer felt confident in the care being provided for my mother.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude for the care that SYNERGY provided to my parents—and, in turn, to our entire family. From the very first in-home assessment, they were consistently professional, compassionate, and true advocates.

Our situation was challenging, with complex family dynamics and frequent scheduling changes. SYNERGY handled these with remarkable responsiveness and flexibility. They were reachable 24/7, and every member of the team—from administrative staff to caregivers—was knowledgeable about our needs and genuinely invested in our parents’ safety and well-being.

The caregivers supported every aspect of daily life, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, and companionship. Just as importantly, they brought patience, consistency, and kindness to each interaction. They also brought stability to an otherwise very difficult time for our family.

It is clear that this organization prioritizes compassionate, high-quality care. As a physician, I have seen many sides of home care, and SYNERGY stands out. If you are looking for reliability, excellent communication, adaptability, and consistent staffing—along with truly dedicated, compassionate and skilled caregivers—I would highly recommend them.
