Frank Salvucci has been in 5 rehab facilities in six years for various reasons. Our best experience.has been at Sunny Acres. It may be on the old side but it is immaculate. The physical therapy is amazing. I still do not know how they got him walking in such a short period of time. I have to give a shout out to Maria. The nurses are professional and caring. They are always willing to answer questions and explain things.. There are numerous activities each day. The food is very good and there are always alternatives if the meal is not to your liking. The team works great together. If you ever need a rehab facility, Sunny Acres should be your choice.

Sunny Acres should be rebranded as Nightmare Acres. After. serious surgery, my father needed help getting back on his feet. Sadly, my father's time there was horrible. He hated it. Now my father is very easy going and very upbeat. The fact that he had nothing good to say about this place is a case in point. He normally can find good in every situation. We talk to my father everyday, we have family and siblings that visited everyday. Unfortunately, we saw first hand how hard it was to get anyone to respond to both my father's as well as our requests. It's a sad place and it doesn't feel well managed from a skilled nursing or rehab perspective. When patients press the call button, it may take an hour or more to get a response. Nighttime responses are even worse. There are no socialization efforts. Once they have PT, they go back into their room and lay in bed for the entire day. It's sad but it is totally preventable because they have an activities room where patients could be brought for some much needed social interactions, watch a movie with others, or just have coffee with people. My father was not offered this option even once. Diet preferences are totally ignored, he was served scrambled eggs daily (which he hates and made known to the staff) yet he was served eggs instead of the cereal he requested. I will say there were a couple of people who were responsive but only because I was present and asked that the issue be addressed. I had to ask the rehab administrator to intervene for me at one point because I had not received a return call from the case manager or nurse manager after leaving about 5 messages over two days. Just shortly before requesting that my father be discharged, I had a conversation with the rehab nurse manager and case manager. It became a "he said/she said" discussion where it was clear they have their opinion, we have ours and ours didn't matter. At that point, I discussed discharge plans. They wanted to wait another day so it was easier for them to do the discharge paperwork, not because he needed to stay another day for any medical reason. I disagreed and asked them to accomplish this as soon as possible that day because we were taking him home. If you have other choices about where your loved one can be placed while recovering, please explore them. I have nothing good to say about this place.

For me Sunny Acres represents the Gold Standard! The staff is competent, friendly, organized, and responsive. The facility is clean and odor free! You ask a question and it gets answered TODAY not tomorrow or next week. The nursing staff , social services, therapists , business office personnel, food services and house keeping staff have all treated my brother and I with respect and have worked deli gently to ensure every aspect of his care is professionally provided.

Recently a family member needed rehabilitation care. Sunny Acres did a wonderful job providing that care. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The facility is very clean and well run. I would highly recommend Sunny Acres for long-term care and rehabilitation.

I love the positive, encouraging atmosphere, so many fun activities, seems like there is always something to look forward to! Caring staff members, they put their hearts and souls into caring for the residents. I’ve told my husband, if the time comes when I need it, I want to be at Sunny Acres !
