Really investigated everything, not worth the money. Really ask questions, there better Alf, retirement community. I would not send my family, friends, stranger, neighbors.a lot of incidents there with Mr, repair issues, communication with staff, ceo, they ignore, repair don’t have parts, food stay same over cook, undercook, raw biscuits, not enough veggies, fruit, I have been con bye resident, had outsider break in my apartment, and I had to leave for my mother care and for me over the place incident s. If you love people visit weekly and check on them, check apartment, thing be stolen from residents apartment. I ran to my mother house and ran from them. They be nice to your face be ready but it gradually go down hill they have have chosen residence and clicks. I am a whistle blower nothing to gain. Good luck living there

I adore this senior community! They have so many fun activities, a beautiful pool area, friendly staff, in-patient and out-patient therapy under the same roof. And I really love that residents can remain in the exact same apartment whether they are independent or need additional assisted living care. Spouses who need different levels of care can continue stay together in the same room too. That's a game changer!

Helpful, kind and friendly staff. And they are a good resource for some extra services my mom needs. The leaders have been willing to work with us as a family to solve problems. Food is good. I wish my mom did more activities- there are fun things to do and nice clean facilities. It’s so important they they the facility is family owned- I hope they keep it- it is a special place and concrete block construction and good hurricane preparedness are a comfort. Even with some cost-cutting measures, they provide a good amount of support and are more affordable than some places. Mom is glad she can stay in her same apartment if/when she needs assisted living. And she has decorated her apartment so it feels like her own space. The apartments are bright since there are big sliding doors to the porches.

UPDATE: These concerns have been communicated to the facility on multiple occasions prior to this review, with no consistent or sustained corrective action observed. At this stage, I am not interested in any further response, as communication only following a public review does not reflect proactive oversight or accountability. If a response is provided, I would expect it to be thoughtful, specific, and reflective of genuine engagement with the concerns raised.

I have serious concerns about the quality of care and oversight at this facility based on my personal experience. There appears to be a lack of consistency, accountability, and transparency in how residents are cared for.

There have been multiple serious incidents that raise concerns about resident safety and supervision, and in my view, responses have not always reflected the level of urgency these situations require. As recently as March 31, 2026, a concerning incident involving a resident occurred. Out of respect, I will not share details, but it has further reinforced my concerns.

I have also observed what appears to be inconsistent levels of attention, at times seeming to vary depending on whether family members are present. In my opinion, care should be consistent, attentive, and reliable at all times.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this facility. Improvements are needed in accountability, communication, and overall quality of care.

After knee surgery, I went to Sun Terrace to heal. I was pleasantly surprised at the good food, the detailed and extensive therapy, and the pleasant staff. The nurses were especially knowledgeable, and caring and exceeded my expectation. We plan to move to Sun Towers Independent Living in the not-too-distant future.
