I don't know what is going on here but it seems they are clear cutting all the beautiful trees in all the front yards. I don't know what they are thinking but it's soon going to be desert of look alike houses. This is not a long 521. This is on the residential streets inside the subdivision. Take a ride along Carolina Commons and sweatleaf drive.

Beautiful place. Plenty of activities at their various clubhouses. Clean, neat and not overcrowded. Friendly people. If I were looking for a retirement community I'd definitely consider living here. Surrounding area is growing too fast!

I was inspired to build at Sun City Carolina Lakes three and a half years ago and couldn't be happier with my choice. The list of amenities is impressive, but the best part of living here are my neighbors and the many friends I have made. I have literally not met anyone I don't like. And I can be as active or relaxed as I choose.

My wife and I have always lived "up north" and for our retirement we wanted a location that still had 4 seasons but not as harsh, provided the opportunity to remain very active, and also was in a great location for social, travel, and other activities. SCCL was it! When we drove through on our first visit, my wife said that is was like a resort. The grounds were well attended and the amenities were top notch. I don't believe there is anywhere in this region that has as much to offer. Three pools, golf course, a full softball field with stands, two very large centers that have an indoor pool, gym, indoor track, meeting rooms, large ballroom capability, cafe, and more. There is even a great woodworking shop too. We have really enjoyed ourselves these last 2 years. We are in Charlotte for theater, dinner, museums, then off to Asheville and the mountains. The beach is only 3 hours away too. I also have to give credit to the residents as a whole. I have never met such a collection of nice folks. The various clubs and interest groups are always very welcoming and offer great camaraderie. You can do as much or as little as you want. But..it is all there waiting for you.
