We were saddened and overwhelmed when it was clear our 91 year old mother needed memory care. . We looked at of the top facilities in the area and we all agreed Stone Hill in Andover, MA, was our first choice.
Every level of management is actively involved with the residents; every resident is known and made to feel cared for by every employee. It is a family atmosphere.
The staff in the Avita memory care unit at Stone Hill quickly put Mom at ease. She was immediately comfortable and felt she was among friends. The team quickly identified her likes and dislikes, helping her establish a routine that suited her perfectly. The atmosphere was always energetic and positive, with the true goal of making every day special through an engaging daily schedule. The daily activities were varied and appropriate for the residents. A special shout-out to Tracey and Maryellen, who are absolutely exceptional.
The staff is quick to recommend and bring in quality geriatric therapists for mobility and ongoing physical care. The staff knows Medicare benefits and ensures you access to all that is available.
The building amenities are wonderful—a Fenway Park cafe, a movie theater, many unique sitting areas with large TVs and games, numerous outdoor areas, wooded walking trail, and a beautiful a wrap-around front porch. These spaces allowed us to take Mom on 'outings' without ever leaving the facility. She loved to explore the building and always raved about how beautiful it is. Mom resisted moving to a facility but once she was there she felt safe, cared for and truly special to live there.
The buildings are maintained at the highest level, All holidays are celebrated with beautiful decorations and events. Stone Hill has been awarded most attractive holiday decor by the town of Andover.
Communication with the family was always excellent. We are deeply grateful we found Stone Hill and would highly recommend it to any family.
Stone Hill truly feels like a big happy loving family.
Molly Buka and Lisa ONeill

For the past three years, my mother was a resident of the Avita Memory Care Unit at Stone Hill, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional care she received.

The staff treated her with kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion. Their skill and caring gave our family tremendous peace of mind.

Recently, my mother passed away, and our gratitude for the Avita team has only grown. Their professionalism, empathy, and support during such a difficult time meant more to our family than words can express.

If you are looking for a memory care community where your loved one will be treated with respect, warmth, and outstanding care, I wholeheartedly recommend Stone Hill's Avita Memory Care Unit. We will always be so grateful to the wonderful people who cared for our mother.

I literally cannot say enough good things about Stone Hill at Andover! My mom had an illness that caused a rehabilitation following hospitalization and we chose Stone Hill as a 30–90-day respite and possible long-term stay. Needless to say, this is quite a process, but the care of the team helped immensely and here we are a year later. My 92-year-old mom is thriving, engaged in the countless activities and events offered and feels truly cared for by the team and the feeling is mutual. Five Stars!

My mom moved into Stone Hill at Andover a few months after my dad passed away in 2025. We evaluated several senior communities in the Andover area and decided upon Stone Hill. My mom was a little reluctant as having a place of her own was a big change after sharing a home with my dad for so many years.

Stone Hill was an excellent choice as it feels very much like a New England home with beautiful architecture and landscaping, and very nice community spaces, furnishings, and artwork. The apartment accommodations are clean and well maintained. The community is not that large, and my mom knows most of the residents. She is living independently but there is assisted living available for her even on a weekly basis if needed.

The staff at Stone Hill has been amazing. They made mom feel at home initially and continued to provide outstanding support and comfort. There are many programs with special events that keep it feeling fresh and new. My mom has been especially active in exercise, word games, bingo, bridge, interesting presentations in the theater and attending live music events. It is great how visiting grand and great-grandchildren are always very welcome including at holiday events.

The dining area is just the right size and very cozy and welcoming. The food is great and varied. If mom is not feeling well, meals are delivered to her room. I enjoy having the occasional meal with my mom.

My family is very happy to have selected Stone Hill at Andover!

I cannot express how much we have been grateful for everything Stone Hill has done with our mom and getting her acclimated into the community. My mom moved to Stone Hill back in late September of 2025 and under not ideal circumstances. Shortly after we made the decision to transition her from her home to Stone Hill, she fell and broke her hip.

Long and short, that fall was the "final straw" that she was no longer capable of living on her own, and also meant that she would not be returning to her house, but instead to her new home at Stone Hill. To make it even more challenging, she was going to be released from rehab while my family and I were out of the country, so we could not be there the first few days. The team at Stone Hill jumped into action and were incredible with helping us get her settled during our absence. They really did make a stressful scenario into one of complete comfort, knowing she was in caring and capable hands!

Once she arrived, the team made sure she was welcomed to the community with open, loving arms, right down to introducing her to people, activities, resources and meals. They really made a difficult (and probably a little scary) situation a highly positive one for my mom. From the moment my mom arrived, she felt part of the community, even though she still had not fully accepted the loss of her previous home.

Fast forward to today, my mom is thriving and has really become an active participant in all that Stone Hill has to offer and has made some really good friends. This was a big concern for our family prior to her move. Just the isolation alone in her old house, due to limited mobility, was having an effect on her memory and social. Now, she really has embraced the social aspects and enjoys spending time with other residents, especially during meals and social gatherings.

In summary, Stone Hill rocks!! We looked at several other communities in the area, and Stone Hill always felt like the right place for mom. We are so glad we choose Stone Hill and even more grateful we were able to get mom her new home here near myself and my family. We couldn't have wished for a better community and situation, so I highly recommend Stone Hill.
