We were saddened and overwhelmed when it was clear our 91 year old mother needed memory care. . We looked at of the top facilities in the area and we all agreed Stone Hill in Andover, MA, was our first choice.
Every level of management is actively involved with the residents; every resident is known and made to feel cared for by every employee. It is a family atmosphere.
The staff in the Avita memory care unit at Stone Hill quickly put Mom at ease. She was immediately comfortable and felt she was among friends. The team quickly identified her likes and dislikes, helping her establish a routine that suited her perfectly. The atmosphere was always energetic and positive, with the true goal of making every day special through an engaging daily schedule. The daily activities were varied and appropriate for the residents. A special shout-out to Tracey and Maryellen, who are absolutely exceptional.
The staff is quick to recommend and bring in quality geriatric therapists for mobility and ongoing physical care. The staff knows Medicare benefits and ensures you access to all that is available.
The building amenities are wonderful—a Fenway Park cafe, a movie theater, many unique sitting areas with large TVs and games, numerous outdoor areas, wooded walking trail, and a beautiful a wrap-around front porch. These spaces allowed us to take Mom on 'outings' without ever leaving the facility. She loved to explore the building and always raved about how beautiful it is. Mom resisted moving to a facility but once she was there she felt safe, cared for and truly special to live there.
The buildings are maintained at the highest level, All holidays are celebrated with beautiful decorations and events. Stone Hill has been awarded most attractive holiday decor by the town of Andover.
Communication with the family was always excellent. We are deeply grateful we found Stone Hill and would highly recommend it to any family.
Stone Hill truly feels like a big happy loving family.
Molly Buka and Lisa ONeill
