UF Health Downtown Jacksonville I recently visited the UF Health Downtown Jacksonville ER and, unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of alarming. The level of care provided here is profoundly disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts for the benefit of others. **Lack of Structure and Organization** From the moment I arrived, it was evident that the ER operates without any clear structure. Staff members seemed to be running in circles, which only added to the chaos. The disorganization is troubling, especially in a setting where timely and efficient care is crucial. **Inadequate Monitoring of Trainees** One of the most concerning aspects of my visit was the presence of many trainees working with little to no supervision from experienced nurses. This lack of oversight raises serious questions about patient safety and the quality of care being provided. It’s bewildering to see individuals in training handling responsibilities without proper guidance. **Unsanitary Conditions** The cleanliness of the ER was another major issue. The facility appeared unsanitary and poorly maintained, which is unacceptable for any healthcare environment. A clean and hygienic space is fundamental to patient care, and this location fell short in that regard. **Subpar Staff Performance** The overall performance of the staff left much to be desired. There seemed to be a lack of professionalism and attentiveness, making the experience feel even more frustrating. It’s difficult to trust your health in the hands of a team that appears disengaged and unprepared. **Conclusion** In summary, my experience at UF Health Downtown Jacksonville was overwhelmingly negative. I would strongly advise anyone seeking medical care to consider other options. This facility's apparent deficiencies in organization, training, cleanliness, and staff performance make it one of the least desirable choices for healthcare in Florida.

I went to UF emergency room because I had swelling in my face from an infected tooth. I was taken to triage and processed almost immediately. I went to Ascension and another emergency dentist before I went to UF health and those two places did nothing. UF gave me an IV fluid drip for antibiotics, it did help with the pain ALOT. They sent me for an MRI to check for an abscess. They did locate one. I think the dental department at UF is called “OMFS”. Someone from that department came and drained the fluid as best as they could and that provided some relief. She also prescribed a medicated mouthwash. UF was very helpful and the doctor who drained my mouth was very comforting. I was very irritated and afraid of getting a needle in my mouth but she made me feel very comfortable and safe. I will be returning to get the dental work I need in the future.

I visit this hospital daily for a family member. The valet worker at the front entrance fabricated accusations about my driving and then addressed me in a threatening, disrespectful manner directly in front of my wife. Speaking to someone that way in front of their spouse is completely unacceptable. I have complained twice now — no one reviewed the camera footage, no one believed my account. This kind of behavior from a hospital employee is inexcusable. Management needs to act on this immediately.

This is about Allspice Cafe. The hospital is good. Dr. Amer and his team have been great! Hospital food good. But don't try to take your hospitalized person to the Allspice Cafe. Tried to treat my husband. He was informed he wasn't allowed to eat there. Today we tried to get a drink and take a break from his room...he has a super tiny old room where anyone visiting has to sit sideways in the chair and not face him. This time he was informed he wasn't even allowed to sit in there. I don't have words for this. But I can take him OUTSIDE and sit in the car. Really??

Visited my sister in labor and delivering 04.16.2026 and I would like to give a shout out to the resident ally bear (not sure if it's spelled this way) who was assisting my sister post delivery on the 3rd floor. Her bed side manners are great and she was very very kind and helpful. And the lady at the desk who looks kinda Filipino (not sure ) with the short black hair was very kind when we needed refreshments. They made the visit 5 stars.
