I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing this review because choosing a community for a family member is no light decision. I wanted to make sure that I shared thoughtful perspective after my mom had some time to settle in. Last month, I was in a heartbreaking / time-sensitive situation trying to find the right next step for my mom. Ativo stood out among the communities I toured. Now after four weeks, it’s clear it isn’t just because the building is newer (which is nice) - it’s the people, the responsiveness, and the genuine care. The online portal was also a *big* deciding factor for me in addition to Ativo’s vision to incorporate AI to potentially improve senior care (can't wait to see that evolve!). Sales/Admin Team: Peter led my first tour, and I came prepared with a VERY thorough list of questions (for every community 😅). What mattered most to me was how clearly he addressed those initial questions/concerns. And now, how consistent he’s been since day one. It also gave me a lot of peace of mind seeing that he already had trust and rapport with someone whose opinion my mom and I both value. I met Deanna at the end of the tour, and her warm and reassuring personality was felt immediately. By that point, my “tough daughter / evaluator robot mode” started to drop and my emotions started to catch up with me and she was safe shoulder to cry on. It also meant a lot hearing she had her own connections to helping an elderly parent. Both wonderful human! They’ve both stayed incredibly responsive after move-in: willing to jump in or connect me with the right person when I have questions and even doing thoughtful things for my mom along the way (like printing a photo for her unprompted on NYE, which absolutely made her day). Clinical & Leadership Team: I had heard positive things about Ativo’s Head Nuse (Director of Health Services?) before I met her, and she lives up to that reputation. Jenny has a lot of experience which is very reassuring. Jenny and Melissa (Executive Director) were compassionate walking me through my mom’s assessment results (that I did not anticipate).. It also spoke volumes that upon request the team quickly coordinated time to meet with a close friend I sent on my behalf for a follow up discussion, and made sure neither of us felt rushed and confident moving forward. Memory Care Team: The MC staff deserves ENDLESS kudos. Bree and the entire team have been kind, attentive, and truly compassionate from day one. This is not an easy line of work, and you can tell when people care about what they do. The patience and consistency I’ve seen from this team brings me more reassurance than I can describe! They treat residents with dignity, and each staff member has their flavor/strength in connecting. I've even seen several reinforcing the breathing /meditation exercises I’ve practiced with my mom :). Means the world! Online Portal: it is important for me to stay informed from out of state and the portal allows me to view activities my mom participated in (or view the activity calendar so I can suggest things she’d enjoy), check visitor logs, and track any outstanding maintenance requests. Like any website, it has a few small bugs here and there, but even in its current form it has very helpful features. Activities & Community: A huge thank you to the Assisted Living and Memory Care activities team! Being able to go to group work out classes and feel a sense of community has always been very important to my mom and I love that there are so many options beyond workouts (ex: aromatherapy and cooking classes) -that help keep her engaged and settling in.

What a wonderful community at Ativo! We have two family members living here and both are happy, healthy and thriving! The staff has been amazing, there is a ton of activities that they try to get everyone involved in. Family and extended family are welcomed at all events, classes. They even brought in ponies for the residents to pet and hug! The onsite beauty parlor, physical therapy, and access to doctors that come right to their apartments make care easy and seamless. Thank you Ativo for your compassion and care of our loved family members.

We were impressed at first tour of this facility but after our mother was here for less than two weeks she was kicked out & sent to the ER (no medical reason for her to be there).Ativo could not “handle” her. She was kicked out without other alternatives. Fortunately we found a great place for her & she is doing very well & all the reasons Ativo could not handle her have disappeared & she is thriving at new place. Meanwhile Ativo is being greedy & want their $3000 community fee. They have already charged us for it & taken it out of mom’s bank account. If this isn’t elder financial abuse I don’t know what is. Beware of this place, looks are deceiving. Everything worked out but our mother has not been treated well by this uncaring money grabbing facility.
