I spent 14 days for rehab after knee replacement.
I had problems from the anesthesia
The hospital transferred me to MVRRH when I arrived I started what I thought was the hiccups it wasn’t one of the doctors there told me I was basically dry heaving. He knew exactly what to do and did it.
I started OT and PT the very next day. My OT lady her name is Martha I will tell you she was a God send for me she pushed me to excel but in a very positive gentle way, she just had a way to get you to want to do more.
I had a few PT’s they were all good but the last was Abi a big guy he explained everything as went forward working to muscles loosened up and really helped me walk again. I sure would have like to have him from the beginning, he did so much with the last four days I had him in my evaluation the last day we started to walk he said to go as long as I could following behind with the wheelchair when it was said and done walking in gravel , rocky and uneven terrain tackling steps went 365 feet before I had to sit and take a rest.
I had to show I could get in and out of a car, my wife was not there that day so they looked up the specs on the Car I came home in and set up a mock setting using the gym equipment to practice getting in and out the car. The thing is my wife and I live over a hour away so it was not she could get in short order
The nursing staff was excellent couple of my favorites are Charlotte, David, and Kevin three of the finest people period. The PCT three really stood out Rose, Nuru, and Faith
The only downside was the shower routine “A” beds got morning and “B”beds got nights coming at 9:30PM for you to take shower was crazy they wanted me to sign a paper stating I refuse to take a shower I told her no cause I am not refusing but not at 9:30 PM after being woke up I told her I was up at 5:00AM and I would do then so that’s what happened. Whe OT got my shower it bright and early
The food in the dining hall was always good and being able to sit and eat was way better than trying to eat in bed.
The place has high ratings after being there I know why they get results.
If you need rehabilitation that’s the place to be.

My experience at MVRRH was outstanding. Their physical rehab program was aggressive but brought about very good results and set me up for a successful transition home. The food was good, the staff friendly, helpful, and caring. I recommend them based on my time there.
