TURNOVER. TURNOVER. TURNOVER. I just found out that the director of the memory Unit is gone and no communication was sent to the families about it. From our standpoint, he was extremely helpful, responsive and caring but I also know there are usually 2 sides to every story. They have had enough different nurses there to staff a hospital and not a one has ever been pleasant or particularly helpful when I requested information about the resident's medications. There does not appear to be any formal comprehensive orientation as staff are often at a lost as to how to contact people, find needed oxygen tanks, etc. and this was apparent even before the pandemic and the extra challenges that reigned down as a result. However, on the plus side, like other people here, I want to particularly call out Challah and Mandy who have been so helpful and pleasant from my first encounter with them. They are gems in a field where such caring can often be hard to find. I emailed the petson from corporate about something - no answer in over a week. I left 2 messages for the regional nurse since Monday - no answer and these are the higher ups???????

I called to get information on how I could offer my services and Connie was rude. Once she found out I was not a prospective resident her whole mood/attitude changed.

It's taken me awhile to write this (isn't it true that we are quicker to let people know about the things we do NOT like?). I placed my husband there in memory care in jun of '19. I had visited 11 facilities. I saw only one other place I would consider placing my sweet husband and I could not afford the other place.

The staff and leadership at SSP have been wonderful. They have shown real compassion and true concern. I have realistic expectations of a facility and know that it doesn't always smell like roses and that my husband is going to be messy sometimes. I'm there about every other day, so I see a lot of what goes on.

I would recommend SSP and told my family that if I ever need to be placed in memory care, this is the kind of place I would want to be.
