Sadly… unexpectedly the owners of the community blindsided everyone by closing. Retreat was such a special place and a hidden gem among assisted living communities. The staff and executive director truly cared. What they did crushed us. I would never trust a Phoenix community again. Such a terrible thing they did to everyone. Literally 3 weeks after we moved in they told everyone they were closing. Someone moved in the day before. The owners didn’t even have the decency to let their staff know. Such a shame. I can’t express how happy I am that we found Retreat. We recently moved our mom in and she is thriving. Tammie, the Executive Director, and everyone that works with her care deeply for the residents. They create engaging activities, are warm and compassionate in their interactions - it’s such a blessing to be surrounded by so much love and care. My mom had started to really shrink in her last community. In the few days she’s been at Retreat she is LIVING and expanding - not just existing. We are grateful for the extra help and attentiveness to her needs. I can’t recommend Retreat highly enough.

My husband and I stopped by this assisted living facility for a tour. We have a friend who is looking for a one bedroom apartment. The executive director, Tammie Barker and her staff were wonderful. She gave us an excellent tour and an overview of the facility services. They have wonderful adult activities and my friend, if she chooses this facility would be comfortable and cared for here. Definitely 5 stars.

My mom moved into Villa Palazzo's Assisted Living community in September 2022, and she has been thriving there. The staff has been amazing across the board. The room size, amenities and friendliness and care of the staff has really made Villa Palazzo stand out as an outstanding facility for my mom. Just recently, my mom had to be hospitalized for four days, and when she returned to Villa Palazzo, multiple members of the staff went above and beyond to welcome her home. Paige, at the front desk worked with the kitchen staff to ensure she had a meal waiting in her room, so she didn't miss dinner, and the care staff who met us in the car greeted our mom with a smile and told her how much everyone missed her and how glad they were to see her again. My mom was pretty quiet and a little overwhelmed when she left the hospital, but she got a HUGE smile on her face when she saw that friendly face back at Villa Palazzo and was welcomed back home so enthusiastically. The head of care kept us posted on the urgent medication updates that we had the hospital expedite the order for, and when we visited her the next day, another member of the care team went out of her way to welcome her back, too, to say how happy she was to see her, and to take her back to her room to get her a clean change of clothing right as her shift was starting. We are very grateful for the care and warm environment Villa Palazzo has provided for our mom. Thank you to everyone at Villa Palazzo!

I moved my father into an apartment at Villa Palazzo a year ago. It is not easy for an older person to leave their home, and most of their possessions behind, and move in to an assisted living facility. But this has been the right decision for my father. I know that he is safe, well-fed, and that the Villa Palazzo staff is watching over him. Robert is an excellent manager. He has put together an fabulous team. I can't say enough about the kindness and friendliness of the staff. They truly care about the residents. It is hard to find great people to care for the elderly. Even though some of the faces have changed, the overall attitude of the staff is so positive. Our family is thankful for Trevor, Constance, and the many other employees who make up the facilities and care teams.

I moved my mother to Villa Palazzo in April. She was very hesitant on her first day. The extraordinary skill and genuine compassion that each staff member has shown her since her arrival is mind-boggling. All the staff present with an up beat attitude which is infectious to the residents. She has transitioned from suspicious about losing her freedom to happy, relaxed, and content. The facility is clean and the public areas are nicely decorated. I have eaten meals with my mom in the dining room and the food is really good. I am thrilled that my mom is engaged, busy, happy, respected and safe. I am very happy with my decision to move mom here.
