Dr. Hernandez told me my life is a “shit show” no empathy terrible therapists. Why do the psychiatrists also act as therapists? $3k a day too!? Yikes. Food was good tho

I received an email asking me to write a review. The fact that it's a completely unpersonalized message from "Press Gane Consumer Experience" says almost everything.... The Retreat is not truly a place of healing. It's a fancy hospital program with some structure and doctors to try to help you get over your symptoms. For that structure and for getting me to Baltimore, I am grateful. But for a place that advertises as "Hope and healing start here" -- no I would not agree at all. I'm very sad and sorry to say that. Especially given how much money my family invested there. For certain people - particularly with OCD where there is a specialist - maybe this could really be the place for you. But if you're someone who really needs a caring, nurturing, safe environment, I agree with the previous recent reviews that say no - this is not that place. If you're looking at this because you or a loved one is need of serious care, I wish you the best 💛

I went to Sheppard Pratt with anxiety and depression issues. I found the staff to be compassionate and caring.I left there a new person, no longer anxious. I have a whole new I’ve open to me.

I was very disappointed at the lack of structure and activities during the day time program. Way too much "free time allowed". The cost of the program was outrageous.....😒and based on this cost it should have been highly structured with multiple choices of group as well as individual sessions. The weekends were deadly again with way too much free time. I would never recommend this retreat to anyone truly suffering from anxiety and depression.....waste of time and good money in my opinion.

The retreat at Sheppard Pratt is a joke. I was there for 5 weeks—they insisted I stay (to get more money) did not help me one bit. They do not do anything to try and help you bill your insurance nor set you up for success when leaving—their version of success is a print out from your insurance website about therapists in your area. My initial psychiatrist misdiagnosed me 15 minutes into our first session, I promptly switched, and while Dr. M was nice, I made virtually no progress whatsoever and quickly regressed to my pre treatment state, but $75k poorer than before! If you love your child or your spouse, do not send them here. To say they are trauma informed would be a massive overstatement. The food is disgusting hospital food and half of the modalities advertised online they don’t actually practiced. I basically had to beg for more therapy sessions since I was not improving. There is also no focus on harm reduction surrounding mental health. The cleaning staff were overall the most supportive people there. -10/10 would rather be at a shitty state hospital than this dump. They spend all of the money on snacks and not on giving high quality treatment to their patients. Mind you this place is about $3500 per night and the nicest amenities they offer are justin’s almond butter packets and bathtubs in a handful of rooms. Again -10/10 would only recommend this place to my worst enemies!
